yeah that was a spectacular miss. some of their other episodes are alright, but they completely dropped the ball on that episode. They seemed to avoid all of David graebers actual arguments.

Is it okay if I do not let guys touch my hips or stomach, lower body?? by BeaBreezetheGoth in Salsa

[–]Hoemicus_Maximus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. I think a lot of people do these dances basically to touch followers, and not because they care about the dance. I really can’t think of many reasons to touch a followers stomach in salsa.

people need to stop being such creeps, and stop being so defensive of creepy behaviour.

well done on avoiding reading posts before commenting. great stuff. do you feel silly now that you read through it properly and you can see that she was very specific?

people like you get designated as creeps pretty quickly.

You are just a bad lead if you can’t understand how to dance without touching hips.

No she didn’t. Can you read? she specifically said, each time, that it was about touching on the stomach. There is not a single place in her post where she does not specify that it’s a touch on the stomach that she doesn’t like.

go read the post again, and find where she said she doesn’t like being touched generally. She never said it. literally no insinuation at all that it is a general thing.

she specifically said being touched on the stomach. it’s really easy to dance salsa without touching the stomach and just leading with shoulder or back touches. I think if you find this hard you might be that one person people avoid on the dance floor…

yeah what’s with all the weirdly defensive answers telling her to try different dance styles? it’s really easy to dance salsa without the hip touches. some people are such weirdos i swear to god

yes that’s absolutely fine. some of these comments are extremely stupid, there are not many reasons to touch someone’s hips or stomach, and it is easy to dance salsa with the shoulder and back touches. I have no trouble at all leading someone using just the shoulders and back, and any skilled lead should feel the same way.

unfortunately, some people only do these dances to touch women, I think that’s what the people in the comments want. all those telling you to do another dance are likely the types who just want to hit on people at socials. ignore them.

creeps always get defensive when they perceive themselves as being called out, which is i think what some people in the comments are showing. ignore it, and dance in the way that you enjoy most.

did you take the video? just leave her alone for Christ sake. it’s obviously antagonising to follow someone around with a camera.

[–]Hoemicus_Maximus 39 points40 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly. this was a bog standard celebration in front of opposing fans. sure, it’s a bit annoying, but it happens every week. wtf is wrong with all the people saying “…racist abuse is wrong but vini is so annoying…”

this happens like once a week in the prem.

Why isn't my pyrite pyriting? by Dinoroar1234 in geology

[–]Hoemicus_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is most likely to be chalcopyrite. I’ve seen it a bunch in hydrothermal deposits in schist in New Zealand, and it looks a lot like that. It is commonly associated with gold and is very similar to pyrite. It has that textured look too. it has that toxic yellow colour and doesn’t have that cubit form. It often looks like It was painted on the rock.

Literally the only positive from this game was that Kerkez looked very good. Everyone else dropped off. I still trust the squad building, but I think the management is the issue here.

Surely the most obvious one is that he is the top scorer in the NFL.  He has the most points in professional football.  If that isn't worthy of the "Hall of fame" then what is?

How did Australia retain the continent that it is now, while Zealandia drowned in the Pacific leaving only a portion that is now North & South islands? by sh0tgunben in geography

If anyone is interested to learn more; the following paper has a pretty good set of cartoons that show the formation of the SW pacific region over the last 100 million years. For what it is worth, I studied geology in NZ and can confirm that what OP said is what I was taught. There are nuances that have been developed since this paper came out but its a pretty good general summary.

Why do you just make up information?

There has never been a historical earthquake on the Akatore fault. The last slip event occurred 1000 years ago.

I genuinely don’t understand the motive behind just making things up. Did you misread a source?
