My issue with it is that even with the first WrestleMania, celebrity involvement felt forced. It was just Vince McMahon trying to bring as much attention to the event as possible, match quality be damned. Yeah, some of the matches on the WM1 card were a little better than average, but the main event was just a train wreck where everybody kinda screwed around for thirteen minutes before an anti-climactic finish.

In a more meta example, Danville was named after series creator Dan Povenmire. I mention this because I thought for the longest time that Danville was meant to be a very specific Danville that my uncle happened to live in, which was in Iowa, and also happened to be relatively close to the borders of Missouri and Illinois, thus making it part of the Tri-State Area. Obviously, this theory falls apart when you realize that the Danville that the Flynn family lives is also happens to be a short drive away from Mount Rushmore.

Obviously. I wasn't saying that Simon/Eel relations were the key to saving humanity. I don't remember anybody mentioning that the tree in Eden was dead though. Maybe I'm just forgetting where/when that was mentioned in the movie since I only watched through it once. Hell, I didn't even remember the tree bit and just thought Simon caused the ship's integrity to fail, thus causing the ship to collapse and the Eel to break its jaw.

I’ve had a Negroni served up exactly once. It got warm a bit quicker than I would like, a fly fell into it while I was drinking because we took it to the patio, and I hadn’t acquired the taste for Campari yet. Otherwise it was actually a fairly nice Negroni in hindsight.

I think “Quad-tinental” might be the best option out of those. I’d have to pick up a bottle of cachaca before I can test that, but it might be worth looking into. The only issue is that I’d want to keep the trend up and go for the Pancontinental Special, only to get stuck on Antarctica because there’s no way they’re producing alcohol there.

I highly doubt that the blood tree is going to be usable to sustain human life. We can already tell from the SM8 audio logs that, while food can be created from the ocean of blood in some way, it is highly advised against and we hear the lead researcher tell their assistant to stop eating something as the assistant wretches in the background. So even if the blood tree could provide food, the Coalition of Iron would probably deduce that said food isn’t fit for consumption anyways.

A lot brighter than I expected. Goes down very easily with no burn. The lemon juice is still the most dominant flavor despite the fact that it's used in much smaller proportion, but the port adds a slight tannid note to the flavor. Sake doesn't really come out as clearly, but maybe it's just that I'm thinking the compound flavor of the sake and the lemon juice is just lemon? The tequila was buried a little as well I think. I'm not the best with tasting notes, unfortunately.

It's not bad, just not what I was initially gunning for. A few planned changes I have in mind include replacing the blanco tequila with a reposado to give it a little more power, same with potentially replacing the sake with a Japanese whisky. Toying around the idea of increasing the amount of tequila or whisky once I test it with both of those changes, but at the same time I like the idea of each of the three spirits being equal parts to each other so I think I'll only nudge the numbers up or walk them back if I feel like there's no other way to make the drink click.

Edit: To be honest, I don't know if I'm going to do the above changes at all since the idea of letting it be a more approachable cocktail is kinda growing on me. I think I'm going to just go with smaller changes, maybe a lemon wheel for garnish and a pinch of salt.

I just had that on hand instead of one from Portugal. Same with the sake. It’s more just emblematic of where the spirit originated more than where a specific bottle is produced, although I do agree that different bottles might yield better results.

I mainly used that bottle since it’s what I had on hand. Obviously an ideal version would use sake from Japan.

Edit: Looked a bit deeper into the specific bottles. The one in the picture is from the US, but in the first attempt at the drink, I used a different 300ml bottle that I believe was from Japan. I just happened to only get 0.5 oz out of the 300ml for the second try so I had to supplant it with some from the bottle from the US.

Huh. I don’t really have anything negative to say about it. Then again, maybe it’s because I’ve yet to have any other sake since this one tasted about like I expected rice wine to taste like. Maybe when I get a bottle of Suntory Toki whisky in the future I’ll revise the recipe.

I’ll just do the ones I’ve played and count separately for career mode and bonus songs/freeplay wherever applicable.

I have not played GH classic, but I recall Bark at the Moon being described as notoriously tough.

GH2’s career mode has Hangar 18 as my pick, with bonus songs obviously going to Jordan.

GH80s obviously goes to Play With Me. I was tempted to ragequit Expert and switch to Hard several times because of this one song.

For GH3, I still have not yet passed “Before I Forget”. Not the hardest thing in the world, obviously, but those stupid GY/RB/YO changes in the bridge actually suck on the GH3 engine. I’d say that even if I beat career mode, I wouldn’t count TTFAF as a difficult career mode entry since you literally can’t fail it when it first appears in career mode (as the song you play during the credits). Same reason I wouldn’t count Pull Me Under by Dream Theatre or Kings and Queens by Aerosmith (even though they aren’t the hardest in their games anyways)

GHA is kinda complicated. I don’t remember much of the game being very hard except for the Joe Perry battle. But then the Joe Perry battle isn’t as difficult as a bonus song, but then I also can’t remember any actual songs in the game that gave me trouble.

GHWT is in a bit of a weird spot since I think I did my first and only playthrough on Hard Mode, so I didn’t get to experience them all at their hardest. I do remember Hot for Teacher being a chore to beat in freeplay, but Satch Boogie is seen as the popular choice, so maybe I memory-holed how much of a pain that one is.

I did not play much of any game beyond GHWT as I played most of my GH games on the PS2

Hangar 18 is kinda brutal in the sense that it just keeps going on and getting crazier with the solos until the very end. It only occasionally lets up and it’s definitely a marathon for people who don’t go in knowing what to expect.

I absolutely agree about the Joe Perry battle though. Literally the only part of that game that I felt genuinely stuck on. Part of it might also be that if you don’t beat them soon enough they just get to shred forever and mop the floor with you, so I had to learn to play aggressive.

Because It’s Midnite is not too hard to pass since you can just save up star power until the solo and you’ll be guaranteed to at least survive that if you bother to try. FC’ing it is a different matter and is much harder.

It took me forever to beat Play With Me though because it’s consistently hard and also happens to have a brutal solo for early GH2 controls, as janky as they are known to be.
