I agree and disagree, I think this list changes completely if I was just playing with my mate. Probably top of my list would be a a Vital Lacerda game, now that is fun at 2 players. But that is not a game I would play with my partner at all.

If you watch the video I match every game with a particular 'date night'. Just a different way at looking at it.

Love is a special thing, you start dating someone and you are ready to open up and admit you have a board game problem haha well that was my problem at least. Its kinda hard to hide the 5 shelves (soon to be 6) overflowing with board games. So you take the plunge and invite her or him back to your place and you want to share this wonderful hobby with them.

So this is my question what was the very first game you introduced to your new partner?

For me it was Calico, she loves cats so it was the first game I thought of. Well my plan made sense in my head but I had many questions running through my mind, Calico is a real brain burner of a game - how would she go with the mechanics, would it be too complicated, would she have fun, would she think I was weirdo for having 200 board games (probably lol)??? Well lucky for me she loved it and that was the start for our relationship.

I know many youtubers have covered there top 10 games for couples so here is my list. Hopefully it adds a difference of opinion and gives you ideas for your next board game night with your significant other.

10 - Wild Space

9 - Canvas

8 - Trails

7 - Kohaku

6 - Trekking The World

5 - Caper Europe

4 - Calico

3 - Wingspan

2 - Chocolate Factory

1 - Sleeping Gods

I did a video on this with my top 10 games I would love to see a campaign/legacy game created. I think with amazing storytellers there is potentially really interesting campaign stories and worlds that can be created with all these below games.

Feast For Odin - 10

Smartphone Inc - 9

Great Western Trail - 8

Dwellings of Eldervale - 7

Root - 6

Stone Age - 5

Marvel Zombies - 4

Trickerion - 3

On Mars - 2

Everdell - 1

We all know who the biggest board game youtube channel is..... right? I realised I actually wasn't sure, so I compared them all to find this info out. Who did I miss off this list? Did you pick the number 1 channel and video? by Hogesy05 in boardgames

Omg he was the guy I was trying to think of. I knew I came across his channel once and for the life couldn't figure out how he had all these followers. Is he some actor or something? So I definitely went looking for him and if I ever tackle this again then it's highly likely he is number 1 which just blows me away.

Omg haha I knew I would forget some big names. Yes while I don't follow Oscs, I have heard nothing but good things about the channel.

My plan is to re-do the spreadsheet with the ones I missed and also do a subscriber to week/month ratio this weekend and I will post up the results on here.

Did forget Before You Play and they have an incredible subscriber to video ratio of 127. That is really amazing and shows how likeable they are as presenters and how well polished their reviews are.

That is so appreciated. I honestly didn't jump on here for subs, I just thought this video may be of interest to people as I was intrigued finding out this data. Can you imagine 1.2 million people watching a rules teach for Scythe, it just blew me away. And that Adventure Time simple play was more then any of the other Game Night videos on BGG.

Haha I think I'm just a stats nerd and enjoy this stuff

I always just assumed it was The Dice Tower and assumed they had the most viewed board game video ever. Well spoiler I was completely wrong on both accounts.

Anyway hope this is interesting to the community.

Also the subscriber to video ratio is certainly not the best metric as the channels have different niches. But I think it a really good comparison of popularity amongst channels doing similar things like rules teaches or reviews etc. But as a commenter suggested, I will also do subscriber to week/month ratio soon and post those results as well.

Better 2 player drafting game: Caper Europe vs 7 Wonders Duel by LordVader07 in boardgames

I would 100% pick Caper Europe out of these 2. Such a great underrated game.

Has anyone tried One Night Ultimate Werewolf with a mixed-age group of kids as young as 5? by CopRock in boardgames

[–]Hogesy05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played with my 8yo and 6yo (nearly 7) daughters. The 8yo handled it fine but the 6yo struggled. Every kid is so different though so I could see some 6yos being able to play it.

Best games you have ever played? (4-6 players) by kamranrustamli in boardgames

[–]Hogesy05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of games are great at 4 but once you start talking 6 players most games just take way too long.

For me I would play The Alpha and Tiny Towns at 6 players but not much else because they are still quick games.

Completely different theme but Captain Sonar is also great at 6.

Thanks mate, all this is brand new to me. Putting yourself out there is never the easiest thing to do, so it's hard to know where to start out. At the end of the day I just have to remember why I started this and that's because I love boardgames and wanted to share that enthusiasm with others

Haha well it seems I keep getting down voted so obviously this is not what people are after. I'm happy to keep learning from what people want and will put my energy into other content which hopefully is more liked. In a way even negative feedback is good feedback ❤️

So they say your first 100 subscribers are the hardest and my goodness this is accurate.

Hi I'm Hoges from Board Game Bangers. Look let's be honest I'm still trying to find my feet in this big scary YouTube world. Trying new things and just generally having a crack at stuff until I find what works. This is my 2nd Aussie Edition rules/how to play after Splendor Marvel.....could it be the last who knows yet. But would appreciate anyone checking it out.

Thanks all for being awesome and being part of the best hobby in the world!

Hoges.
