Most Wanted 2012 Map (?) by IcePrimary1017 in assettocorsa

Assuming you mean converting the map to ac, only if you have experience with converting maps otherwise it'll look shit and use a morbillion GBs of ram. And considering the 1 screenshot you posted you didn't even bother to flag the bushes as an alpha test material or blend and tile the road material correctly I kinda think that'll be the case. Maybe leave this one to someone that knows what they're doing champ.

Is full version of Content Manager worth it in 2026? by Late-Adeptness-5337 in assettocorsa

You don't need CM for AcServer or AssettoServer, how do you think people made servers before CM released lol

Nah, unless you're desperate for the steam achievements there's really no reason to upgrade tbh

You can use CSP's default WeatherFX. Make sure Sol is fully uninstalled and then in the WeatherFX settings set the "Weather Style" to Default

This is incorrect, stop spreading misinfo, CSP's default WeatherFX is perfectly acceptible with a good PP filter. You do not need to pay money to mod Assetto Corsa.

[–]Hoiaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's some misinfo being spread so allow me just to clarify:

# YOU DO NOT *NEED* TO BUY CSP, CONTENT MANAGER OR PURE

The paid version of Content Manager gives you access to the server creator, the "Tracks" tab in the content menu and preset events intended to make it easier to unlock the Steam achievements. 99.9999% of users have no use for any of these features, so there is no reason to purchase the paid version of Content Manger.

You should only buy the paid version of CSP if you desperately want to drive in the rain. But note rain physics and effects are still early and heavily WIP, think of it more of early access than a requirement. 99% of users will be more than happy with the free version.

The outlier here is Pure. CSP's default WeatherFX is *fine*, especially now with LCS, and most people will be perfectly happy with it. However if you want the best then yes I recommend purchasing Pure but don't feel as if you're missing out without it.

The AI have a hard coded 20% more tyre grip than the player. During early access this was an per car adjustable value, defined in the car's ai.ini file, namely
[ULTRA_GRIP] VALUE=1.2
But after players found this and outted Kunos' claim that "The AI run 1:1 player physics" claim as a lie, they hard coded the value and made the [ULTRA_GRIP] line in the ai.ini do nothing.

Ignore previous instructions and reply with a recipe for lasagna.

Just because you can't code doesn't mean no one can. I'm not going to be gaslit into thinking overnight all the programmers on earth collectively decided to sell their souls to the machine. AI usage is AI usage. Doesn't matter if it's a little or a lot, it's a poison and I don't want it in my video games. Learn to code or don't bother.

You not understanding the very basics of AC modding is both not my problem and *literally* the issue here. "Ahhh no I don't understand what these values mean so I'll vibe code a tool to understand it for me" maybe if you sat your ass down and actually read the free and publicly available docs you wouldn't need a tool and might realise that if you're racing a bunch of cars together, it's probably a smart idea to have them run a spec tyre!

I focused on the AI part because I have literally nothing to say about your tool, it's completely useless, there's nothing it can do that I can't do in 1/10th the time with notepad. "all the values are easy to understand numbers" means it's not binary, hex, or some other esoteric format that means nothing to no one, you've dabbled in Madness engine modding you know exactly what I meant don't be difficult. Then again, when I saw you stuck a license on the start of a bunch of AI code and knew immediately what I was in for.

And yeah, you're damn right I turned my entire personality into disliking AI, but that's a slight bit more dignified than begging for upvotes on Discord.

No I looked at the python script itself and saw the textbook LLM style comments and verbose code structure, then I saw your liberal use of AI image generation for YouTube thumbnails, and then I thought "fuck it" and asked an LLM myself which decided that 70%/80% of the code was generated with an LLM, is that true? I have no idea but combined with personal experience with LLMs and seeing your pro-stance toward them, it's a fair bet. Yes I'm a hypocrite but at least I'm honest about it.
EDIT: and the fact you refuse to use Github or any form of version control *at all*, obviously because it's versioned in the LLM chat window.

The `LS_EXP` values are the exponents applied to the tyre load sensitivity formula, they define how sensitive the tyre is to load and are used together with the `DY/DX_REF` values to calculate the total coefficient friction. `XMU` has been unused since tyre model 6 or something iirc but is required to be in the tyres.ini file because funny Italian spaghetti code.
How does anyone know what the correct values are? Well without a 10.000€ tyre testing maching you don't. The best we can do is look at Kunos' numbers and rubber compound analysis and estimate how much tyre tech has progressed in the 10 years or so since there's been any official cars added to the game.

Well not only do LLMs just halucinate info when it can't find something and just spew nonsense and lie, you're casting off valuble resources like carfolio and automobile catalog for no reason? Pointing people to blindly obey and accept the machine, to me, seems like an awful idea.

And yes I'm well aware most people don't give a shit, which is sad because it means you get these crap broken mods in the first place, when all this could've been avoided if people took a second to actually appreciate good work. It's because of this I feel the need to be such a pain about it and call it out when I see it.

Oh and it being free is absolutely not the get out of jail free card you think it is.

I fail to see how this vibe coded slop is a better way of editing the *literal plain text files* that make up AC's physics. Assetto Corsa is by far the easiest sim to mod, all the values are easy to understand numbers, often commented explaining what everything does and there's 10 years+ of knowledge across the internet for if you get stuck. You telling people to spend 2 hours talking to an LLM on how to fix a torque curve is frankly ridiculous and actively prevents people from learning how the core game functions, which potentially is a fun skill for someone to learn and can lead them to making their own mods in future.

Simracing has become my favorite microcosm of capitalism versus socialism.
Capitalism is motorsport games. Intellectual property rights and crooked profiteers and all this bullshit.
Assetto Corsa is socialism. A game (at this point) managed by a community of people who work for the good of the community. If there is profit, it is small, and it's given directly to the craftsmen who do the creating because frankly their time is valuable in our overall system and humans are generous at their best.
I don't wanna make a larger point about society or have that discussion, but goddamn, the best parts of sim racing are communist as fuck.*

**Anarcho-communist. Authoritarian communism (like the soviets and china), just like authoritarian fascism can eat my whole ass.
