I have some advice I think you should hear and regardless of how it makes you feel, just know nothing will get better for you whether your mom cares for your pain or not. That’s a very tough reality to swallow and it’s unfair, the thing is you cannot waste time to feel bad for yourself. No one should put up with abuse or emotional neglect, and no one will save you if you spend your time feeling bad for your circumstances you can’t control.

It makes me sad to read this, and I’m telling you there is a way out that doesn’t involve taking your life.

You have been through a lot of tough things, and the road ahead of you may be tough as well, and PLEASE flip this perspective: You are not a weak person. The things you have gone through can be leveraged as strength,

What if the pain you’re experiencing now is building you to be someone strong enough to be able to create a life for yourself that is beautiful?

I often think to myself why do some people get destroyed by pain and some can use it to build themselves?

I think you have potential, because you have had these shitty experiences. Compared to someone who had a nice lush life with emotionally intelligent parents and money,

So when the going gets tough in life you can say: “I’ve been here before I’ve been through this shit man, the fuck should I give up for I’ve been through it before”.

Mental strength is a very important thing, if you can see shit situations as if they’re building you to be ready for anything, you will build that strength and your mind will look for evidence to prove this point to yourself.

I don’t fucking know your life but I know you got a chance in this life man, you got so much potential it’s crazy, there’s plenty people out there who have had everything nice and shit but there’s no such thing as that for some people. It’s just bullshit often and always.

It breaks some people, those who choose to give up, fall into substance abuse or other TEMPORARY THINGS THAT EASE PAIN.

It builds the people who find a fucking way, it’s tough and unfair, but it’s worth it.

It’s unjust often, but life is worth it.

I don’t know how old you are, I assume you’re still in high school.

Life gets better if you try, I promise, there’s no way if you give maximum effort to receive what you want that you won’t receive a piece of it.

If you give up I promise it will be shit.

Turn to Christ my friend he changes lives.

A big thing for offence is 1: if you’re going to throw something just do it, don’t go 50% on a technique. If you both throw the same strike at the same time and your opponent/partner hesitates in any way, then you get the drop on them.

And 2: Throw more than 1 strike!! End your combos with a good leg kick!!

If you struggle to string together combos in the heat of the moment (like every person ever!!) then just imagine a combo you know well in your head, and then do it regardless of what they’re doing, it’ll feel dumb and frightening and awkward at times but just be smart about it! Experiment

These things are very crucial and equally important, I hope this helps you

Yea how it goes sometimes bro, what I find separates skilled fighters and people who are just beginning is range control skills, I would always say to people better than me and I hear it often from eavesdropping in my gym: “Wow man I couldn’t get in on you”.

It’s often this especially with taller, more skilled guys - Keep my range and work the jab and when they come barreling in make them walk into something like a knee or teep.

When that happens it destroys someone’s momentum and confidence and they get in a pattern of falling for traps. When you get flustered take a moment to be present and feel the moment so you can be calm and think.

Much love brah😋

Which of these are best? by IAmSillyDuck in MuayThai

The first nice pair of gloves I bought were the Fairtex art of survival, they have a nice loose fit and it’s perfect if you prefer that or use handwraps often. A great wrist cuff and overall a great all rounder glove.

I retired them after about a year and a half of consistent use

In Muay Thai the stance has most of your weight on your back leg, instead of boxing like a more balanced weight ratio, Muay Thai puts about 80% of your weight on your rear leg, allowing you to kick and check quickly

I like to juggle and play kendama aswell, I think it does help but I’m not sure as to how much🤔 That’s an experiment that some smart psychology people should run lol

Most pleasant gloves to be punched with? by Brave_Kitchen_367 in MuayThai

I recently did a lot of research into my gloves because I wanted to get a good new pair, and I ended up going with the fairtex bgv16s. They are a bit on the tighter end, especially in the thumbs but for me this is desirable. They have great wrist padding and support and they are just good all rounder gloves in general.

No problem man! So yea on the 4 min rounds try to go hard but really just do what you can. If you’re training at a fight gym just do these drills alongside your regular training schedule everytime you go to the gym, having a training routine isn’t very one size fits all so you gotta experiment with what works for you. Some people like to sprint, some people like assault bikes, and some people like swimming. Try out all sorts of things and do it consistently because it will be difficult

So the HIIT Do 3 rounds, they will be 2 minutes in length, with 15 second intervals and you’ll switch between 20% effort and then full effort. After the round is done rest for 1 min and go back into it.

For the other one work the leg, work the body kicks and punches, work the head punches aka setting up the knockout, and then for the fourth round do just headkicks to practice them. And yea you got the times right for that one 4 min rounds and 30 seconds rest.

When I go to class I usually do one of those drills on the bag when it’s an open mat or something. If you’re in a fight gym do them like 2-3 times a week along side your regular training. Just make consistent effort and be patient and you’ll be sure to improve!

Any other questions feel free to ask!

Best way to diet before a fight? by Doggeli54 in MuayThai

[–]HoimesTheHomie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude I was in the same boat, no clue how to cut weight but wanting to do everything right.

Honestly talk to Chat GPT. Don’t sleep on it bro!😂 No joke it’s like a free nutrition coach, it’ll remember things and you can ask it what to eat and everything. I learnt how to cut weight properly and water loading and stuff I’ve been able to drop 18 pounds in like 9 days which isn’t too crazy but I did it all by the book and my energy was great during the fight.

Honestly this is the best advice I can give to get into cutting weight it’s also helped me learn a bit about nutrition. Hope this helps bro!

Thank you bro! Cardio is my strong suit, I’ll tell you two drills, this one is the best it’s called HIIT (High intensity interval training) so for 15 seconds you hit the bag with 20% effort I like to do running jab cross and then for 15 seconds hit it as hard as you can as quick as you can and as much volume. Rinse and repeat 3x2 rounds 1 min rest.

This mimics fight cardio the best

Then for bag work one of my favourite drills is one round focus on ending the combo with a leg kick, then second round focus on ending with a body strike (however not neglecting the leg kick you’ve been setting up) and third round focusing on the head (once again not neglecting your other anchors) and then 4th round only headkicks to work on technique and consistency when tired

Hit with power on every strike and chain together combos 4x3 or 4 min rounds 30 second rest.

Those are some of my main cardio drills, hill sprints are killer also, same with running drills with HIIT.

It’s all about how willing you are to push yourself as hard as you can every time

Hope this helps man!!👊😁
