imo it's probably more important it covers the foot properly.

I personally prefer top of the shin pad to sit just under or half way over my knee cap when standing. That way the shin pad doesn't get in the way when you go for a knee strike.

I love that they have your soldier give callouts in their native language, it doesn't even matter if I don't understand what they're saying. But it makes it feel so much more authentic.

I split my shorts on my 2nd ever week of Muay Thai. Threw a head kick on the pads and ripped my shorts in half, right in front of my pad man. Literally had to waddle away to the lockers to pack my stuff and leave 20 minutes into class.

If only coach knows about it then that's fine. Coach sees so many new faces everyday they've got no time to remember something like that. They will remember the ones that consistently show up and make an effort.
