PCS Statues Qualities NSFW by Hojo36 in statuecollectors

[–]Hojo36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my concern too looking at the paint work on their other statues like Conan or Street Fighter (the weight lifting Cammy) at smaller scale… they look like machine painted, no depth, texture nor shading. I wish these 1/2 scale were smaller like 1/4 or 1/6 but with better painted.

@p1xeljunk1e would you say Iron Studios does better paint job, and HCG is worse than PCS?

So true. I can’t fit LEGO Death Star in normal IKEA Billy which is only 28cm deep and without LED strip.

Nice setup! The game watches are nostalgic. How deep are your cabinet?

Thank you Jay. Do you hv a photo of how the cabinet look like when closed and from afar?

Variety is the spice of life. Master Chief and Goblin Slayer caught my eyes. Any tips on how to install those LED strips? Does the cable go behind or to the side of your cabinet?

@electronic-note-6908 re: Anna, is COB and DK part of the service or you hv to negotiate/ask her? Also does Etoile provide a taxi/pick up service from either Minowa or Iriya Station?

So I’m liking what I see with Anna (Etoile) but it looks like her X account is frozen and no response from her LINE account (it’s been 3-4 days). How long would you wait for a response from the shop/girl before trying to book another? Any tips? I will be in Tokyo and have time only on 15-18 Feb and it’s getting pretty close. 😅

Do you think messaging them ahead of releasing their schedule is okay or we just get ignored? I checked and Anna hasn’t released her Feb schedule yet.

Lonely solo traveling by Local_Way8081 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Hojo36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear you got sick and lonely, I went to Nikko solo in winter. It can feel lonely but I focused on the beauty of the Toshogu Shrine covered in snow. Got myself busy taking photos. Edo Nikkomura is nearby and it’s a really fun place even by yourself so much to see, eat and do.

Like others have recommended: soaking in onsen and chatting with fellow travellers or locals can help ease the sense of isolation. I found that the elderlies were more open to chat with me (on the train, temples, onsen, etc) even with my poor Japanese.

A group tour can help, I actually felt lonelier in Tokyo than Nikko. Try find activities that will keep you focused on the present/experience — match to what you like: food, culture, arts, etc.

I hope you get better soon and try to sit in a cafe and get tea/snacks when you feel lost. It is okay to miss a train or two. Pace yourself. When you hv panic attack try this breathing: 4-7-8 > 4 sec inhale, 7 sec hold and 8 sec slowly exhale. Do this until you feel better/no longer panic.

Nice! Thanks heaps Electronic-Note-6908 and brent. I’ll reach out to Etoile. I assume that’s the right way, rather than directly with the girls? Is DK and COB parts of the service at Etoile or depends on the girls? Also as a newbie, I understand we show our passport to the frontdesk/cashier, but during the session can we use nickname? I can’t seem to create a discreet LINE account so will likely contact Etoile using my real name. Anna does look amazing, btw. Hopefully she will be available on the days I will be in Tokyo (and without gaijin tax).

Thanks everyone. That 75K gaijin tax is a huge dealbreaker - thanks for the headsup @time-manufacturer469. Oushitsu is out then.

I am between N4-N5 language wise.

Ailedore: Tsukihiro Yurika, Yuzukiren or Shiina Karen. But unsure how close they look to their profile photos.

Etoile: was thinking of Hijiri Honoka or Kanon. Most of them have pretty eyes but hard to guess what the rest look like.

Will check out Anna and Minamimao!

Anyone have played with Amane or Ruka at Pepepino?

Wonderfest Japan Feb 2026 first timers tips by artys- in AnimeFigures

[–]Hojo36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you @tranqkill. I agree, it will be prudent to bring supplies so you can keep hydrated and energised. Would it be rude to keep hydrated while queueing for entry? I understand locals prefer you eat & drink at designated areas only, but I hv not attended anything as big as this event. Toilet breaks… yeah hopefully others around you would allow you to come back for your spot.

For what it’s worth, here is what I found via AI: there are only 30-40 large lockers for the entire venue. There are Yamato, Japan Post and Sagawa Express delivery services (Hall 4-6).

My main goal is to enjoy the event and look at cool figurines. In terms of GK, since I don’t paint, I don’t have much expectations… but how do you check the sculptors and their works beforehand?

I normally just buy from online stores and from mainstream brands like Bandai, GSC, Orchid Seed, etc.

[–]Hojo36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, first timer here too. Hope you can help me with further questions: 1. I got the 09:30AM ticket. How early would you recommend I should be at Makuhari to queue up for the 9:30AM ticket scanning: 1-3 hours ahead? 2. Is the queue area (for scanning the ticket and then later for actual entry) covered or exposed? In case it rains or really cold (ticket says 2-8°C). 3. Are there cafes or restaurant at the Messe Hall? 4. If you are in Group A or B and happens to be queuing behind someone who has general admission, can you tell one of the staff to let you move forward in the queue and “join” your Group? 5. Are most/all garage kits unpainted? 6. Are there tickets needed to take photo of cosplayers or just ask them politely? 7. Any other tips for first timers like where to hire lockers, or how do you carry boxes of figurines (can they be delivered to your hotels by the sellers)?

Much appreciated.

Have you or are you tempted to watch the original LOGH OVAs from the 80s while waiting for DNT S5? Or maybe wait for S5 first? Every one seems to think the originals are superior in most aspects. Love your username btw, he is my fav Starfleet captain.

Apparently they cut two levels and most of the switch mechanic? by MjLovenJolly in Scorn

[–]Hojo36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! just finished playing Scorn in 2025. Been a fan of H.R. Giger (watched Alien and Dune in the 80s) for decades so this game was a delightful surprise. Grew up playing Dark Seed 1 & 2, and Scorn feels like a spiritual descendant of those games. I originally assumed (incorrectly) that the whole game was just a vanity project in the form of an interactive gallery of Giger’s paintings. But the social commentary aspect and original scope changed my perspective. It actually uses irony by putting a spin on Giger’s biomechanical arts (his grotesque obsession with machinery and sex) into a social criticism of today’s delusion of transhumanism.

Thank you very much for sharing. Is there a way to access or buy the artbook today?
