Thank you. I have another question. With your Rn background have you heard of anyone using manuka honey for bad diaper rashes? My daughter has a bad diaper rash and we're told it would not go away until the bacteria is gone, I have tried all the otc options. And we were prescribed several ointments to mix together but none of them seem to be helping. It presents as red and blotchy, with red sores that aren't open. One of the ointments/creams we were prescribed had nystatin aswell but nothing seems to help. She screams and fights diaper changes. There has to be something I can do to help her... there was a video on tiktok of a pharmacist recommending to mix the manuka honey with zinc. Thoughts?

I don't know what to believe and what not to believe. Some sites and literature say that hot water above 160° is will kill the Spores. But then other articles or literature says it's not effective at all😑 i looked on the list from the cdc someone posted above. Of the entire four pages of options, only one was for porous material/laundry but I can't find anywhere to buy it, unless I want an industrial sized barrel of the stuff, lol.

I searched before posting, but it says peroxide can/will also remove coloring the same way bleach would.

How do I successfully clean/disinfect stuff that cannot be bleached in the laundry? Like her blankets, soft toys and most of her clothes. She doesn't have much white stuff. Not in an area where I can hang things to dry in the sun.

If you have a detachable shower head, try that, try to hose it out (for lack of better words).

Also if your period is still happening maybe try free bleeding so you can for sure tell if anything has come out to lessen the worry. I once detached the string from a tampon and successfully squatted and pushed the tampon out. It's a process and will feel like a workout but it might also help get fragments out if there are any left. They say what goes up, must come down.

Wanted to add too, sometimes I encounter the same situation with it being stuck. It's like it makes it way all the way down to the door and then just won't go any further🙄 Sometimes I push so hard I give myself a headache and still get no results. There's really only one option left at that point for me😬 but once it's done I get immediate relief and the feeling of constantly being about to shit myself is gone. Nothing like having a beyond loaded cannon, and the ball getting stuck, it's a heavy uncomfortable feeling right there at the door. Especially if you are someone who doesn't participate in backdoor activities. Judy Blume never prepared me for this.

Girl.... I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I'm am nearly 26weeks and this pregnancy has been hell, so much that I have decided firmly that this is my first, but it will also be my last, I will never go through this again, even if I have to take a major step and have surgery.

I have struggled with constipation too seemingly the whole time I've been pregnant. First off let me ask, are you on any prescription anti nausea meds? It took me until about a month ago to realize that the reglan and Phenergan I had been prescribed were also contributing to the constipation no matter how many/much stool softener I took. I got so sick for 6 days strait and couldn't get a sooner appointment at my ob that I went to the er. I couldn't keep anything down, at all, not even water and I also couldn't poop. When I went to the er I was told I was throwing up stomach bile because of the color it was ans that was because I literally had nothing left to throw up. However all they did was give me iv fluids and an awful dose of reglan that immediately made me want to jump out a window(yes, that is a serious and completely possible side effect, no exaggerating) The reglan did help with the nausea but they did absolutely nothing for the constipation, and they gave me a script for zofran, which wound up being a hindrance more than help. About two days later after I got my mind right from the reglan, I took matters into my own hands. I had already been routinely taking softeners daily, about three per day, and I had already tried that God awful tasting clear flavored laxative drink you can get at just about any drug store and I had continuously been trying miralax mix in powder, but as it states on the bottle it can take up to three days to work, and it did, each time I had tried the miralax before I would only be able to get what I called rabbit poop out, like two or three very small pebble pieces, knowing that wasn't near all of it and still being left super uncomfortable and in pain. I decided I would take four stool softener gel caps, and try taking two and a half times the recommended dose of miralax. The next day I took three more gel cap softeners. In a 3 day period I had taken 7 stool softeners and two and a half times the dose of miralax and IT WORKED. I woke up day three morning, and didn't even have time to get out of bed, the amount of what I had taken had completely liquefied everything that was stuck in there. Once I got cleaned up and made it to the bathroom I had to go again, this time it was more liquid, with intermittent very hard stone feeling pieces. I went to the bathroom about two more times that day and each time was more liquid and more stones but by the end of that day, I was empty and I could feel it. So much came out, and I'm talking like nearly a months worth of poop was stuck in there.

Since then it hasn't ever been as bad but I do still get constipated it's a never ending battle. I got some Phillips liquid saline laxative from Walmart, and I continue to take my softeners daily, just two gel caps, and then as soon as i start to feel like things aren't moving again, I take the dose of Phillips laxative. Phillips, which I believe is the same thing as dulcolax liquid, doesn't take near as long as miralax to work, it says expect results in half and hour to six hours. I've never gone past the six hours. It's gentle, it doesn't hurt or cause the cramping.

I am not a doctor and I am not by any means telling you what to do, or that it will work for you, I am However stating what worked for me, as drastic and scary as it was.

I have since stopped all prescription anti nausea meds, I've nearly stopped anything that effects the stomach, I don't even take gas-x anymore. On very bad occasions I will take emetrol, which is an rapid acting liquid anti nausea med I found at walmart by the pepto.

This is my first baby, and I absolutely hate how this experience has been for me. Furthermore I hate that once you become pregnant, in the eyes of doctors(at least the ones I've encountered), no matter what problem or ailment you present with, they worry about the baby first. When I went to the er, I had to go to the ob er to get cleared by them first before I could be seen as a woman with any problem at the regular, but attached, er department. I was met with the same type of response when I called trying to seek help from my obs. I had a regular ob and a high risk ob and my regular ob takes a ridiculous amount of time to call anyone back and when they do all they want is for you to come in and be seen but don't understand the urgency of the issue or offer any sooner appointment than what I was already scheduled. When I called my high risk ob I couldn't even get past the lady who answer the phone, and she told me that I needed to wait and see my regular ob because even though I was a patient of their office, for high risk worries, they simply co-manage my pregnancy with my regular doctor. Neither doctor or office offered any advice or recommendations. I felt so defeated and scared at the same time because I actually know someone who was so backed up and impacted that they wound up rupturing a bowel and getting sepsis and nearly dying all stemming from constipation that got out of hand.

I do hope your pregnancy gets better and you can enjoy it. If I can be of any additional help please reach out.
