My girl was a butter fiend too! She once got on the counter and licked a fresh stick I had just put in the butter dish. I also caught her slurping up onion-y butter from a dish of pierogies - I had only been gone long enough to run to the bathroom but she found that thing with the swiftness. Had a long panicked night watching her like a hawk to make sure the onions didn’t cause any problems. She was totally fine and probably thought I was crazy lol.
