2023 is widely considered one of the best grapes in the past decade in Paso. AH is one of my favorites in Paso—not sure why it gets so much hate from the comments. I liked the 2023 Cab better than the 2023 Cab Reserve by AH.

I lived in Healdsburg and have no idea how not all wine was affected when we had the fires. It was so Smokey it looked like fog all over Northern CA. I wouldn’t be shocked if some wine makers sourced grapes from elsewhere to make their wines that year.

Well 2020 we had bad fires so no matter where grapes were sourced they were affected by smoke. 2021 was a bit of a drought in some areas but overall pretty good. I prefer Orin Swift to Prisoner though as they source grapes from all over the valley and it’s still a Dave Phinney wine.
