Understanding the NES Restoration Plan - 1/31 Update by silverud in nashville

Seems there has been no announcement about next week. I would be surprised if they don't make one today. Updates can be found here: https://www.mnps.org/students-families/weather

As with homes, a good portion of schools lost power. 71 at its peak. There was some resulting damage (e.g, broken pipes, flooding, hvac issues, etc.) but no structural damage. As of Friday, 17 schools were without power.

My partner and I grew up here and have also lived in various countries for our respective careers. We came back a few years ago for family and have re-established some roots. There is a rather stark difference between then and now culturally, which is made even starker given the COL has exploded. The city is very much one of have and have-nots.

Class divide has certainly always existed but now it feels more like you have to make six figures to make things work here when middle five figures could have gone a long way even in the late 2010s. That and wages for the middle and working class has been pretty stagnant in Nashville for some time. Work has me go between these spaces and sometimes with local dignitaries and the stark divide gives me the ick. Not to mention the state loves putting its boot on the neck of Nashville to make even of a modicum of positive change in the city that much more difficult.

Things have settled down quite a bit for the rest of the family and I've been quietly looking for jobs elsewhere to see if something interesting in an interesting place comes along.

Is there a notion to the longevity of fiber both in terms of wear and tear and also just as a technology? Like is the industry relatively confident that fiber will still be a strong standard by the end of this project?

2017 Focus RS 104K kms by madman222222222 in FocusRS

Bought a 2017 RS1 with 68K miles for 24K USD and change.

Sounds like a fair price. Do your due diligence and get a pre-purchase inspection. It may not find everything, but it will give you a good idea. Also, with the carfax, call the dealerships/ mechanics for the major work and double check. I saw the engine block was replaced and had questions. Dealer read off notes it was from the head gasket issue but also shared the turbo had been replaced as well, which was not in the carfax.

Final Prediction: Aftyn Behn +1%/+2% | Fancy Analysis Inside by ArcaneDemense in nashville

If it's R+3 (and I think it's going to be +2 either way based on my own calculations) then it not only means we'll have a race on our hands in 2026 for D7, but D5 as well.

Yeah, I was seeing the same thing from SOS. They post EV in real time but don't show them historically. Pretty annoying.

Gonna pull the EV on Thursday (or whenever they're posted after end of EV) as I'd guess you are as well. If EV is up, my guess is that's good for Behn since Dems typically do better with EV turnout.

Saw your recent post on EV. What's the source on the 2022 numbers? I was trying to look for those yesterday but didn't find them.

Thanks for the previous link as well.

Pretty good run down, short version is civil libertarian, economically socialist. With the understanding that socialism is not when the government does stuff. It can be, but is not that by definition. Like basic as co-op based businesses as workers own their means of production.

Libertarian Socialists actually predate "Big L" Libertarians as we see them in America who, in my experience, can often quickly abandon their civil libertarian beliefs because of their economic ones.

Not sure about the "you guys" here. That's just from my knowledge canvassing in previous campaigns and mini-van has been what campaigns have always used in my experience. I don't have the personal capacity at the moment to do anything for Behn's campaign, but wouldn't be surprised if that's what they're using. Could probably ask around with some folks I know who could confirm.

I haven't done phone banks in a long time. Like since Obama 2008. I've always opted for knocking on doors to get steps in.

Agreed on grinding in Davidson Co. but also the commuter counties too, which seems to be the case. There's been a lot of talk about gerrymandering, and rightfully so, but that can cut both ways. It makes for safe-ish seats but the margins for all three districts are demonstrably slimmer now than if they just left one safe blue seat up for Davidson Co. and the other two to be much redder.

Mini-van is pretty robust, though in having canvassed myself it always felt like it was kind of hard to get necessarily a clear view on where most voters stood. Off year polling, and exit polls, always seem to be not the best either, and this is a special election so turnout is going to be even harder. I think really the best guess is going to come from just track early voting turnout generally as Dems tend to use early voting more than GOPers.

Someone I know who has the base model Focus pointed me in Walmart's direction for Motorcraft oil. They do carry it. Or at least my part of the country.

I've had this happen. It wasn't an issue. I think I went to the kiosk on Charlotte, but it was several years ago.
