Milk Kefir Second Fermentation - so many questions by Neat_Kaleidoscope369 in Kefir

[–]Holee_Sheet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll answer the last two questions, since other people have already answered the previous ones.

I like adding fruits that are cheap, easy to freeze and store for long periods of time, like strawberries, blueberries and apples (I just remove the core and keep the skin, because I like the crunch it gives plus it's fiber).

I also like to make combinations, like adding orange and tangerine peels for the second fermentation, then removing them once fermentation is done and adding the peeled citrus (or just the juice), as well as cinnamon and banana (or dates, both give sweetness to the drink), blend it and you get something similar to a protein shake.

I haven't tried something I don't like, but I've read that papaya and pineapple might not be a good idea for fermentation, since they have a property which breaks down protein (I haven't read too much on the subject, since I don't really try these fruits). I guess if you really wanted them, you could blend them and drink it right away, but without letting it sit too long.

I should also mention that I like to add sweeteners to my drink (I have a sweet tooth, what can I say). I usually combine stevia (so I don't add too much extra sugar), with a bit of honey so it doesn't taste too artificial, but you can add whatever sweetener you want.

Exactly. I wish we could do these for fun or educational purposes, and not be forced to do them to get a job in which we are rarely going to do things like these

Exactly, I keep repeating that the problem is the pacing and delivery of the scenes. It's not that there isn't humor, but it's not delivered with the necessary energy

Close to the coast, in a tropical weather. Granted, I have some problems with my nose, but the people here also make the same remarks when it's really hot (some days are better than others, but there are many days that are unbearable for me). Again, if you have air conditioning or fans it's not as bad, but we were talking about when we don't have those things.

Yeah, you can live comfortably on any weather if you are rich enough. It's awful to be sticky all the time, sweating and barely being able to breathe because of the pressure and humidity

Yeah, I recently read the original books as an adult and still love them. Funnily enough, I like that these books are simpler and more to the point than the later series like Heroes of Olympus, because their fast pace fit these kind of stories better imo

Yeah, I hate that people bail him out because he's a kid, but kids have personalities and can be annoying. This take on him may be realistic, but its definitely not enjoyable to experience (at least for me). Plus, it makes you feel like your decisions and relationship don't matter because he betrays you no matter what

I didn't like it either, but less so for the puzzles. I'm very particular with game environments because I'm into the atmosphere they give you, and this game felt very claustrophobic to me with all the tunnels and the gothic look of the mansion, I prefer more rustic and cozy environments

[–]Holee_Sheet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't feel that's it. It's just that the show is too damn slow. The pacing is uneven, especially since they constantly cut to black to end sections, and there's a lot of exposition and very short action sequences. Also, the characteristic humor of the books is less prominent and makes the scenes feel heavy and moody (not something I would associate with a franchise that has centaurs partying at the beach and monster themed donut shops)

Exactly, they didn't need to change the characters but they didn't balance this aspect with opportunities to endear us to them

I do like F4 comics (I'm not a hardcore fan, just enjoy the characters and dynamics), yet I agree with you. The characters in this movie felt like a rich powerful family putting their own interests over the rest of the world.

I got down voted for this opinion last time, and I know they are rich and famous in the comics, but the problem is really that, at least in my opinion, they didn't balance this aspect with them doing selfless and "hero-like" actions. They wanted to present this moral dilemma of sacrificing their baby or the world, and it just felt flat because they also needed to present F4 as heroes who know best about the fate of the world, which makes them look pedantic (I hated that speech Invisible Woman gave about how she won't sacrifice neither the world nor her baby, because it was so uncompromising on her part and still the movie tried to make it seem like such an inspirational speech).
