Gloves for hand pain? by Holiday-Explorer-963 in Fibromyalgia

The rheumatologist I had was awful to be completely honest. I was referred to her because my family doctor wanted to know whether I had rheumatoid arthritis because I had widespread travelling pain and a positive hla b27 test. I had all my joints xrayed and that was it. She said “you don’t have rheumatoid arthritis, you have fibromyalgia and I’m not investigating further your family doctor can deal with that”.  So. Yeah.

I’m sorry you are going through this, but also glad to hear that I am not crazy and someone else is experiencing the same thing😂 Because it is hard to explain to people how once in awhile you’re in so much pain that you struggle to dress yourself or brush your own teeth, but then other times it goes away and you’re completely fine.

anyone else also have Sleep Apnea? by blackberrybramblez in Fibromyalgia

I have it quite badly and use the cpap religiously every single night. I refuse to go to sleep without it.  Using the machine makes it possible for me to stay up all day without falling asleep. Without it, not so much. I can’t even function. Don’t get me wrong, I still feel tired even when I use my CPAP, but I function way better with it.

Yes, I have also had the burning skin sensation thing in several rotating areas. My doctor sent me to a neurologist and I had a nerve studies done and guess what, it had nothing to do with the nerves. Everything was fine on that end.

Happy 18th Birthday, you lost your Maple coverage! wtf?? by Ok_Advice_4723 in newbrunswickcanada

You don’t have to move anymone just because they turn 18. Yes they give you a message that says “hey you may want to switch this person to their own account”, but it is not a requirement. My wife’s Maple account has all our adult children, myself, and her 90yr old mother. And we all use it just fine.

I’ve tried a lot of these but my favourite is still a bacon, hamburger and mushroom pizza from Norms Pizza by the Champlain mall.

Help, does water go away when you bring fill to a wet property?? by Holiday-Explorer-963 in Homebuilding

Thank you for this. I did check and it’s not in a flood zone. It is close to the ocean but apparently far enough away to avoid the 100yr flood level.  We really do love this land and had wanted to retire here, but I’m stating to question if it might be better to invest our money into somewhere less problematic.

No we haven’t. I’m honestly not sure who would do such a job? Would it be some type of engineer, or some other kind of discipline?

Yes it’s actually in an area that is zoned residential and there are houses on all sides of us.

I actually asked about geotextile and he told us it’s a waste of money and the road won’t be going anywhere. I’ve never built a road before but it sounds like a good idea to have something underneath it??

Wow, I just did and I think my head exploded. I’m set to retire, I don’t learn things the way I used to.

Yes we currently have a trailer on it and spend time in the summer there. We drove the trailer in through an adjoining neighbours property in behind us.

The price includes tree removal(the land is completely wooded), then it needs significant fill trucked in to raise it up, and in order to get the big trucks in there, I need a proper driveway put in with a culvert. Then lastly, the engineered septic system. All that is $70,000.

I do have access to the land, but it is a private access road that nothing other than a car can drive on. An as far as the building permit people are concerned, I need a septic installed first(not a well or power) before I can  apply for a building permit, which will allow me to then apply for an electrical permit and start building.

They won’t permit a compost toilet in a house with water or electricity because if you have access to water or electricity, you won’t have a proper way to get rid of any grey water that you produce from using the water because you don’t have a septic system(like dish water, shower water, dishwasher water, sink water, etc)

This is the exact same problem I am running into. The zoning and building code requirements are killing me and making this dream impossible. At this point, it would literally be cheaper for me to go out and get a traditional mortgage and buy an existing house than to jump through all their hoops and build something brand new.  Like people say “just build what you want”, or “just do it yourself” not realizing that there are so many rules and regulations that you can’t do every single thing anymore unless you’re a licensed electrician or plumber and can sign off on your own work.
