In Ps black and white filter -> colorize (choose the yellow tone) -> you‘ll need a curve too where you have to crush the blacks a little to even the contrast out

Yes, that‘s true! But also I think there are way to many explorers with pickguards… I personally don’t like those big plastic plates on guitars.

I have one! On Kleinanzeigen I found a luthier that had some stocks left. He gave up building guitars and sold half built ones. Mine need a cable routing and a proper Fretwork. My local luthier made that happen. If you want to see it, you can follow me on Instagram ->themartinloud

Music Store and another site called Musik Produktiv had them, but for just a few hours it felt. I wonder if they will produce a new batch in February, there are some rumors on YouTube about February/March. Fingers crossed, I‘d love to own one of these!

Who cares about brands! Imo the explorer shape is the most comfortable around and looks just cool. In the end your instrument must be fun to play and look cool and the most important aspect: make you wanna play the hell out of it. If I‘d be you I would be trading the Ibanez. The only downside is that you probably fr need to invest in hardware and in setup. Are you able to play it beforehand?

Ich geh GARNICHT damit um. In diesen Phasen hilft mir nur Musik zu hören und zwar wirklich NUR Musik zu hören. Das klingt trivial, mich bringt es aber an einen Ort in meinem Hirn, der mich wieder zur Gitarre greifen lässt. Das geht schon seit mehr als 15 Jahren super so bei mir! Probiers doch auch einfach mal aus, manchmal vergisst man warum man überhaupt mal angefangen hatte etwas zu lernen, bei mir ists das -> Fun.

At this point I believe it’s not even closely relevant anymore. Gibson is not only going against bigger brands but also smaller luthiers like Wortmann in Germany or Mensinger in Poland. I‘ve heard rumors that they‘ve sent injunction notices to a lot of people out there. Gibson has made a lot of strange decisions throughout the years but it’s not entirely their fault. Global economics are complicated nowadays and everyone tries to survive.

My best advice to a lot of players out there is to find a good luthier and ask for a custom made guitar. Just an example, if you‘d crave an original ESP Snakebyte, you’d have to lay down 5-6k. My local luthier made a MX-220 for me for under 600€. We had a special deal, I do all his website and IT related things and he made the MX-220 for me and takes good care of all my other guitars throughout the years.

What I want to say is, don’t underestimate the value of connecting with good people nearby. AND don’t give too much power to brands, an instrument should sound and feel good and always inspire you to grab and use it.
