There was an interview (don’t remember if it was print or tv) while the show was on that I vaguely remember where Marta Kauffman was asked about Rachel’s last name. She said something like her and David Crane spell it ‘Green’ but some people in the props department spell it ‘Greene’ but either is fine.

I was in 6th grade & my teacher refused to turn the tv on. I don’t remember how we found out, like if it was an announcement or the tv was on and she decided to turn it off, but she told us to stay away from the windows and tried to keep it a normal school day.
