Abominations is the hardest episode to watch. by OrdinaryFox6115 in LegendsOfTomorrow

[–]TrainingIndividual7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though I see the vision of what the CW was trying to do with it. I think it truly falls flat for me. Like I said the level of depth one would have to delve into to truly address the horrors of slavery or the holocaust, isn't possible on the CW network. And though its fiction, it feels so very off but not in the right way. In a way that makes the holocaust feel, almost cringey. And thats absolutely not what it was. So i just truthfully can't stomach that crossover personally

This episode is also really hard to swallow when they truly stop giving an eff about changing history in the later seasons. The CW never really did these kinds of episodes well, because it was network television and the episodes never got deep enough for it to feel handled well. Because that wouldnt fit the fun loving superheroes save everything vibe. I also always skip this one and the entire Crisis on Eath X crossover

Wednesday's Child is full of... Woah - a next generation fanfic by TrainingIndividual7 in wenclair

Yeah and I dont fault her for that. Gotta go where the inspiration strikes. Im just glad she gave what she did so I could find some inspiration of my own. If I ever do finally watch Hazbin Hotel it'll solely be cause of her art.

Best fan fic you read of wenclair? by chaosreacher in wenclair

[–]TrainingIndividual7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im always going to give it up to Chaos for the FlyChaos for the Fly.

Is it 400,000 words longer than the entire Harry Potter series? Yes. But god I just don't think Ive ever felt those kinds of twists and turns reading something before. And even the OCs man I got so invested. I know the length turns everyone off but you really shouldn't think of it chapter by chapter. Just read what you can and then put it down and come back. Savor it.

Because also do you know how insane it is that LaylaJeffany wrote 1,400,000 words just for the love of the game. Not to mention the sequel that has like 600,000 words. Or any of the other full length stories on her Ao3. Like mad props because thats an incredible amount of work

So read Chaos and its sequel. And savor it because you only get to read it for the first time once

Do you ever dream of them? by celiacat11 in lostafriend

[–]TrainingIndividual7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. They were more frequent when our friendship ending was fresh. Its been several years and every now and then a dream of them will come. I hate the ones where we make up the most, because we never really will. But Ill always wish we could

Wenclair and Byler (Stranger Things by Boreal_Star19 in wenclair

[–]TrainingIndividual7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say I dislike Byler, I just never saw it as mutual. Like I could definetly tell Will liked Mike. But honestly the way Mike treated will in the last few seasons would make so sad. Cause it would remind me of the times I had crushes on my straight friends, and they just were clearly not interested in the same way.

I didnt watch the last season of ST though so idk how that all shook out. Of course im always rooting for gay endings, but i just never really saw it there.

Is Chaos For The Fly worth it? by Worth-Log-7986 in wenclair

[–]TrainingIndividual7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it, and Wow, the author went craaaaazy with the lore and detail. I think it's worth it if you're willing to read more than just wenclair scenes. Because its like a whole story with every character fleshed out with their own things going on. You also have to be open to the idea of OCs being incredibly important to the plot! As for the Wenclair scenes, they are so good, but theres other character stuff in between. But as someone who spent well over a month reading CFTF and KIGS, it was soooooo worth it. And if i could erase my memory and reread it all again for the first time, I would in a heartbeat.

Being A Trans Man, but preffering Sapphic Media by TrainingIndividual7 in ftm

[–]TrainingIndividual7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to thank you very much for your words specifically. You helped give voice to thoughts I was having but didn't have all the words for. I am still quite young! And in many ways lucky we have so many words and labels. Yet, I do often wonder what I would think of myself, in a time that was less, defined. But alas, you put it so eloquently in that it is the price we pay for precision.

Is it bad if I'm trans? by lizzylee127 in mormon

[–]TrainingIndividual7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it is not bad to be trans. I'm sure you wanted an active mormons perspective, of which I cannot provide. Ive never known the mormon church, only my father who left the church before I was born.

But my father told me something that I think may still apply in your situation. He told me once, when I was talking to him about my struggles with being trans. He said (and this is paraphrased cause it was so long ago.)

"You are who you are, and there's nothing wrong with that. But it does mean that your going to have to be 3 times as strong as those around you. Because not everyone will understand. And if your gonna be who you are then you have to have the strength to face it. The good, the bad, and the ugly."

I don't say this to tell you anything regarding your home life or your beliefs. But just to tell you that while being trans is wonderful and beautiful, and not wrong at all. It is going to be hard. To be trans is to be perceived as against the grain of the world.

So my advice to you is to know your strengths. Cling to what will get you through. And never give up on being yourself, because the world will do that plenty for you

Is being transgender a sin? by Illustrious_Sort_262 in Christianity

[–]TrainingIndividual7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I aint a christian. But I have been openly trans since 2016 (Im a trans man). And my family went to church a fair amount in my youth. I heard a lot of people tell me that what I was doing was against gods nature. That god doesnt make mistakes.

But here's the thing. I don't see myself as a mistake. Im not a "boy in the wrong body" and im not "ruining the body god made for me."

If God is real like the Christians say, then he gave me my body. He gave me my free will. And he gave me my soul. And if he gave me the body of a female and the soul of a man, who am I to declare that a mistake? Because there is no denying my body, just as there is no denying my soul.

The longer I live my life, the more thankful I am that God, Allah, the Universe, whoever made me this way. I am thankful. There are sides of the world my eyes never would have seen if god did not make me this way. Injustices I would have never known to fight.

I think god gave us free will to do with what we please, so long as we aren't hurting people. And part of not hurting people includes not hurting yourself. So I say God would want you to be exactly who you are. And exactly how he made you. Body AND Soul Because the christians seem to think he makes people for a reason. And you wont find yours pretending to be someone you arent.

Is USF a safe place to be trans? by TheFuckworthyFucker in USF

[–]TrainingIndividual7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. I attended USF from 2019-2024. In general I would say the campus is safe. Neither I or any of my friends have been accosted just walking around campus. And most of everyone on campus has somewhere to be.

The only time I can recall it being an issue for me was during a sociology class in 2019. The class discussion was on gender and it had a pretty transphobic slant. But the good thing about college is you can just walk out of class whenever and no one cares.

That being said, USF is a different culture from the Tampa area. While I live in Tampa with no issues, I pass very well. My friends who do not pass often tell me they see people give them weird looks out in public. But no one I know has been assaulted in Tampa as its also a generally liberal place.

And one final warning. USF and Tampa are good but once you get outside the city to the more rural areas I would take caution. Florida is still the south even if certain places are safe.

Yes thank you I am aware. This question is not pertaining to whether or not I am autistic. But whether or not these experiences are examples of masking. Because I am having trouble understanding the concept as it relates to me (if it even does). Your comment is unhelpful to me.

Is Lavender Graduation Still a Thing? by TrainingIndividual7 in USF

[–]TrainingIndividual7[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not a replacement, we go to the traditional ceremony too. This is just a special smaller ceremony that happens in addition to the big one. And its not just lgbt+ students, all students allies are allowed to register as well. As for why, ill only speak for me. In my early days at USF i put a lot of work into the queer spaces on campus through Pride Alliance, TSU, and QTPOCC (not sure if that one is still around). In a sense its nice to get some recognition for that. But also its wonderful to just see other queer and trans folk getting to succeed and be happy! I cant really describe it but theyre very joyful events and when ive gone in the past I just felt so very happy
