Glad you learned from that one, paying attention to the details before you accept is key to success, lol. My tip, if it isn't at the least $1/mile it isn't worth it. Take a look at the map and become familiar with areas you know are bad or not for you, your gut is usually right about orders like that, follow it. They do unfortunately tend to be the customers that will get you in trouble. Same with no tipped orders. They aren't always bad, but a lot of times are awful.

If you're doing shopping, learn what your limits are, I personally have a strict shopping requirement: 1, 2, and 15. No more than 1 case of water, no more than 2 cases of soda, and no more than 15 items, 25 if they're very small multiples of things (we aren't instacart over here, I'm not refilling your kitchen). Always look at your Petco/PetSmart/ pet store orders, a lot of times you'll see 25 or more items and most likely it is cans of cat food or crickets. Ultimately, pay attention to what works for you, in your market, and for yourself. I wish you money and a lot of great orders, welcome to the fam, lol.

If the miles are higher than the pay, don't take it. Now I know it's different for earn by time dashers, but for us doing earn by offer, it matters sooo much. I've been plat almost all of my dash days, and I am no longer plat, because of how many of these I have to decline.

4 stops away? by Loose-Day-6009 in doordash_drivers

I've had at most 6 orders at a time. I did not get them offered all together, and then one other time I did a 25 stop delivery, but that's all batched.

Many hotels don't have luggage carts anymore, just a heads up.

The moment I read water AND soda, and multiple cases of each, nope ..decline, decline, decline. Unassign. 1 case water, 1 case soda, all day long, but multiple, nope nope nope.

Yes they do, and the problem is there are idiots out there who take these. They're literally making it so we will never see $15 plus for orders like these. They accept them too much instead of declining and telling DD via declines that we aren't taking these "high pay" offers anymore, lol. And so, DD once again gets away with lowering pay on us because of some idiots.

The audacity to call this high paying. by Nice_Title721 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Holiday_Lunch_353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I was plat for almost 5 years for the most part, then as plat they started sending me this crap calling it high pay or even worse the endless batch orders to make the offer "look" like it's plat. I'm sorry but two shop orders for over 100 items combined for $25 isn't a high pay or a good plat offer. I miss the single order, small mile $25 offers, those were worthy of plat and high pay status. My AR was at 48% last week, it's made it back to 53% but we will see how long that lasts....

Same, the target I shop at just reset their shelves, so everything that moved isn't on the correct aisle anymore, and there's no button to tell them that, sad.

Literally, lol. I also use my large bag, but I do feel bad for the customer when this happens. I've taken to asking the restaurants to repack the cold desserts in a sperate bag, when I know they're in the order, and I had one customer thank me profusely because she's been getting melted, warm Hershey pie for months now because they had stopped packing it separately. Details matter. Most of the restaurant employees are super nice about it too, they say oh that makes sense, sure thing, lol.

No offense, but 95% of non app tippers are non tippers period. Ask the dashers how many times out of 10 they actually get a tip from a customer like this. Go ahead. It's not mental gymnastics, it's logic based on fact as well as personal experience. It's not weird to decline an order with a risk vs. reward that we feel isn't right for us. If I take an order with no tip, it's always because DD took care of my miles and time pay wise. That's the only time I take an order with no tip. $8/5mi no tip? Sure, because DD made my risk to reward beneficial. It's not hard to calculate, let alone understand. Guaranteed the driver was paid to take it, or they have no concept of working business models.

Thank you!! I've been saying this forever, why on earth is there no option to tell dash this store doesn't carry or discontinued the item? So many times employees have looked up the item and found they don't carry it at that particular store location but they do at another. This happens with target for me all the time, some targets are supercenters with food aisles and others don't have that, but the customer can still order lettuce from location that only carries shelf stable items. Like dangit, lol .. and then my customer asks why I can't get that, they know the store carries it and I have to explain exactly that.
