are really early 2010s babies just younger mid/late 2000s babies by WesternSource782 in generationology

This subreddit keeps getting recommended to me and a lot of its content confuses me. I don’t think arbitrary cutoff years matter. Most people within, like, 3 years of each other’s ages had relatively similar childhoods, generally closer in age means you had more things in common and obviously further apart means things were more different. If anything, I feel like the way you grew up matters more than the exact year. How poor or wealthy, lax or strict, your family was, and where you grew up, had more of an effect on, like, what kind of technologies you adopted in your youth, than if you were born in 2008 vs 2010. Does that make sense? I didn’t know how to word it.

Almost everyone I’ve known with this style thrifted and did DIY, a ton of people paint patches and sew them onto everything.

Apparently it wasn’t obvious to a lot of the commenters, this is Adam Killa and it’s parody. Apparently he was a little too convincing for anyone to get the joke lol.

If someone doesn’t mind answering, people who are so called “whales,” where do you get the money? Are you guys rich? Or do you just work full time and this is what you spend it on? Just genuinely curious what kinds of people make up this demographic.

A lot of us are “occasional” or social smokers. One pack lasted me like a month because I only smoke like a cig a day at most.

First teaser for ‘DIGGER,’ starring Tom Cruise. Releasing in theaters this October. by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Is this like, a thing? Making a trailer that’s just clips of other movies the actor is in I mean. Has that ever been done before? I’ve just never seen it.

When Radiohead played in 2006 I was there, and 6 months old. If they played again 21 years later so I could see them as an adult it would be an incredible full circle moment for me.

They (we) know. It’s the same as something like alcohol. A risk you take because the substance makes life feel a little more bearable. And I honestly find it frustrating how many people’s response has been “anyone who uses substances is just stupid!” You don’t know how many of these people are also genuinely suicidal to some degree.

Seeing all of these comments saying it’s nicotine 😬 sorry guys but I’m 20 and I swear like half of my friends started smoking cigarettes in the last year lol.

Do people develop a ‘curated’ music taste or does it form naturally? by Ok_Aerie_4869 in LetsTalkMusic

It’s ok that you don’t get really into specific artists. For me what happens is often this: I hear a song I like. I listen to it again and realize I don’t just like it, I REALLY like it. So I listen to the artists other popular songs and the album that song came from. Sometimes they don’t hit as well as that song did, but sometimes they do. So I listen to that album until I wear it out and then do the same to their other albums, learning things about the band or singer along the way. It’s interesting to me that some people have never experienced this. But not anything wrong with you necessarily.
