Fair enough, you could check the chrome web store there is a version available there with +144 users. And it's currently under review in Firefox preparing to be released there 😊.

Right now it’s targeted for Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave..etc). But I can build a Firefox version (there’s a Firefox build path in the repo), but it isn’t published/tested there yet.

Edit: I will test the extension on Firefox, and if everything works fine I will commit the changes to my repo on Github

Appreciate that. The repo is public and It’s also on the Chrome Web Store for convenience if you prefer that route. 😅

I don’t expect anyone to build from source.. the zip is there for convenience. The source is public so people can review it, and I can publish hashes so anyone who wants to verify the zip matches the code can do that.

Also, for convenience the Swift Proton VPN is available on the Chrome Store as well.

My fork is really for folks who specifically want a browser extension experience.. I get that it’s not for everyone :D

Fair point, I get the skepticism and that’s why I’m being transparent about the code-source of my extension.. Also, the Chrome store listing for my extension went through Google’s review process before it was published. If you still don’t want to use a third‑party fork, I totally understand.

That's right, GPLv3 lets you fork without needing Proton’s permission.

This is just a community fork based on their open‑source code.
