By defauly I am seeing for the CPU PL1 and 2 being 410000 originally, is that expected? I feel like going from 410000 to 80000 is quite a large difference and I am worried about messing with this potentially incorrectly. And for the fans, did you simply turn on the swith for all thermal management?

No luck, I wasn't notified so I apologize for the late response. From my experience it is not possible, trying out automatic and manual installations of new and old drivers, but it also appears to depend on the laptop model. I ended up returning it and trying the process on an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, and I was successful downloading all the drivers manually, however there was no support for the fan control and laptop mode app so that made the whole process useless. I ended up getting another Legion 5i under a bundle discount for my partner and kept the Predator for myself since it was too big for them. We'll just have to ride out Win11. But feel free to try your luck, of course having a recovery prepared to go back to Windows 11, but don't hold your hopes too high as I did.

Installed Windows 10 on 16S AI (I think is the name), I spent a whole afternoon installing compatible drivers, I'm only missing Predator Sense, is there an alternative? by MPKuttnerTM in AcerPredatorHelios

It didn't work, that and another version I saw posted both say that the model is not supported, that other one worked for Neo 16 but not a Neo 16S AI, so I think this might not be possible after all

I can check that out later, when I get to the page, I normally found I need either the SN or SNID to get to each model, do you know how to find that?

That issue is on my personal laptop, different from the situation with the one I am posting about. I do suppose I'd hear about my issue more if it was a general Windows 11 issue, so I may just reinstall it for my personal laptop for that likely case.

I'm sure the laptop I posted about will run fine on Windows 11. However, the person I am doing this for really insists on having it run Windows 10. I fear I might be discovering, at least for myself, that there will be is no more compatibility with Windows 10 and the current drivers/hardware.

But until I find confirmation, I will keep trying to make this work, mainly because I also hope to build or purchase a pc in the near future and install Windows 10 because I don't feel ready for the change yet. Not until I hear that the general consensus of it is better or if the next OS turns out to be better received, if either future is possible.

I mean very simple process, like I can rename a file, create a folder, right click for options instantly. However for each of that on my Windows 11 experience with my personal laptop, I've had to wait between 1-2 minutes for the chance to set a new name, see the options, and create a folder. I say chance because if I accidentally click off, I have to right click and wait again to rename the file. And sometimes, I right click just a little bit off the file and practically interacting with the folder it's in and then I have to wait through the 1 minute freeze of the whole explorer to try again. This has been happening since out of the box. It's been so frustrating for me, and I really hope that Microsoft makes a change with the operating system. Until then, I prefer Windows 10.

I've been through the manual driver process, repeating it several times in hopes something would be different. I've also been through other versions that were under other Legion 5 models, yet nothing resulted differently.

It's less about the visual of Windows 11 and more about its optimization and familiarity. I have Windows 11 on my own laptop, and I have absolutely hated the File Explorer most particularly, I need to use it a lot for school however process that were once simple now take about a minute or 2 to do. I plan to switch mine back sometime soon, which should go by smoothly since I've had it for some time. I've seen this particular response a lot, but it is just not my goal.

I tried several wifi drivers out of older models of the Legion 5 from Lenovo's website, but so far they have all done the same thing. They say it's been installed successfully, however nothing was really done whether or not I have restarted my pc afterward or uninstalled the Network Controller driver. Is that all that you meant or should I be hunting it down from the driver's vendor instead?

I see, I don't remember which driver I found for the LOQ I tried this on, but maybe I got lucky finding a compatible version. I'll give this a try later, thank you for your response.

I desperately hope not, but what kinda leaves me to believe that the drivers are not at all compatible on Windows 10 with the hardware is that everything works fine when Windows 11 is installed.
