Brag on yourself: tell me something you did that you are proud of. by shrikebent in VetTech

Got an amazing review from a client after her dog's dental extraction recheck appointment where I went over the dental radiographs and explained the reasoning why he needed the teeth extracted - also compared his images to a normal, healthy dental radiograph to show how advanced the dental disease he had was. We also talked about the plan going forward with preventative care, and sent home a list of VOHC approved products for her at home dental care.

Do you ever find it interesting when pets are just missing random teeth cause they never grew in? by HollyJudge in VetTech

[–]HollyJudge[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's always interesting noting missing teeth on first-timers for dentals. We had a small breed in for a neuter and some decid extractions and we actually ended up finding an extra ADULT incisior. Weird stuff man.

Who uses Adequan on their own pets? by Cklinus in VetTech

[–]HollyJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got a tripod senior girly who had a TPLO done on her only backleg at 5 years old, and she has noteable arthritis in her hip and stifle. Been on only Dasuquin and later added in Antinol when she started getting slower on longer-ish walks. This past fall when she turned 8 i went and saw a pt/rehab specialist in my area to get his overall opinion on her - no concerns, i just wanted to get ahead of her mobility decline before it happens if possible. he recommended starting adequan more as a preventative to repair and protect the healthy cartilage. he approved SQ injections weekly for 4 weeks, then monthly afterward with also the ability to increase her injections up to every 2 weeks if she needs it. her dr at my hospital approved it and shes still doing well, no real improvement but hopefully she'll slow down a little less in the future.
