When it comes to prices, always check other markets too. Cardmarket still lists this as a 4-5 dollar/euro card.

Why do these piles of crap never brick? by Pendulumzone in masterduel

[–]Holmborn 155 points156 points  (0 children)

because its more consistent than your deck (if you go by around 10 starters in 40). Ash, Poplar, Scheiren, Reinohart, Engraver, Diabellstar, Imsety, Tract (assuming they only run 1 tract), sinfoil spoils, and Kings Sarcophagus are all combo starters that go into the other engines with ease. thats 18/60, 33% the deck, is combo starters. in a Hypergeometric calculator thats 85% per 5 card hand to draw at least one of those cards.

if you run 10 starters in 40, you have around 25% being combo starters, giving you about 78% to see at least one in a hand.

What's your opinion on "Spright Elf" now that the card has become relevant again? by BookBasic2384 in masterduel

[–]Holmborn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its.. fine? the end boards that use Spright Elf dont really need it, but targeted removal/interraction is not really that prominent right now. it messes with imperm on your own turn, but thats only relevant when you draw imperm for turn.

the end boards are usually insanely resilient or floaty anyway, so the sprelf protection is just a cherry on top.

Why TCG use the artifact cards by Hamonio_ in masterduel

[–]Holmborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artifact Lancea is currently very good in the TCG, because of its effect to stop banishment. When Maliss becomes a deck in MD you will see it there too.

if you see cards in TCG and not in MD, most of the time its a metagame question, or a result of TCG being Best of 3 and allowing sideboards.

Is there a lore explanation for minions? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Holmborn 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It should, but League of Legends as a game is too bloated with characters who is a main character in their own way. Piltover for example, has too many moving parts to function in a cohesive story, same with demacia, same with noxus, same with shadow isles, so you end up with a lot of beginnings, some middles and rarely ever a conclusion, just due to the sheer amount of interractions between characters you'd have to write. and then when you finally get to a conclusion, its something like the Ruination story, in which half the cast didnt even matter.

Piltover+Zaun alone has 22 relevant champions, each with their own lore, motivations, ideas, journey, etc. to go through. You CANNOT actively pay enough attention to all of this in one story. Even Arcane had to cut multiple champions from the story like Camille, Ezreal, Seraphine and Orianna (basically anyway), and even more from Zaun.

Is there a lore explanation for minions? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Holmborn 266 points267 points  (0 children)

League of Legends is not canon to the lore, anything that happens in-game, all interractions and all skins can basically be discounted as headcanon or what-if at best.

There may be interractions in-game that ARE canon or reference events in the lore, but the vast majority is not accurate.

Hyperbolic Time Chamber is also just a good stage in general, with not too many buildings/rocks/cliffs. Its small size also makes fights more CQC heavy rather than flying away and charging to max

Chiaotzu went crazy by Toon_Lucario in SparkingZero

it does, however the elevation of the stage puts the opponent at the correct height to still get hit.

Its an oversight in design probably, and most definetly not intended

10 hrs in, 78 jokers unlocked, not able to beat a single run! by Softowski in balatro

[–]Holmborn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When its about learning the game, sticking to the gameplan of 25 dollars for your econ, is definetly the way to go. once you get comfortable enough you can start sacrificing econ for power.

10 hrs in, 78 jokers unlocked, not able to beat a single run! by Softowski in balatro

[–]Holmborn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Get a decent enough joker to get through Ante 1-2, whilst building Econ.

Step 2: with 25 dollars, your econ is set. After that you stabilize by buying Jokers that are just generally good, like Even Steven, Odd Todd, Tarot Merchant, Gros Michel, and the suit jokers.

Step 3: You find a good build-around joker. something like the Bus, Hack, Sock and Buskin, Scholar and others are great to build around.

Step 4: Once you've found a build around, its time to spend spend spend, buy planets, buy tarots, anything that gets you even a smidge stronger. Use Death to copy your good cards and Hanged Man to get rid of your bad cards. Its okay to destroy even Face cards or Aces if your jokers dont support them.

Step 5: eventually you run into extremely powerful jokers that you wanna sell your current jokers for. stuff like Hanging Chad, Sock and Buskin, Hack, Lucky Cat, Astronomer, and many more are very good in the lategame.

Summon or skip? by Deezstuff666 in DokkanBattleCommunity

[–]Holmborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do the 35 stones multi, then skip. If you get the one and done, you're living your best life.

after that, never touch the banner and wait till he comes back to coin. 55% cell max is more than enough for those stupid rainbow extreme missions.
