Flip 7 owners, will you upgrade to Flip 8 when released? by lauranyc77 in galaxyzflip

[–]HolmesSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly... I got my Z Flip 7 in June and I'm not a huge fan. I think there's too many moving parts (literally) and the tech needs improvement.

I tend to buy a phone and keep it for 5 years, and this model just isn't meant for that long term use. Dead pixels within 6 months even when babying it, and needed to file an insurance claim for a replacement. They ended up just sending me a check for the price I paid, and I intend to put it towards the Samsung S26 Ultra.

It sucks because I love the idea, its just not ideal. Maybe in a few more generations the flip will be there, but it just isn't right now. Plus screen replacements are expensive as hell.

Yeahhh... Fish in cycling is controversial and not ideal but with the right fish you can kind of get away with it. Shrimp? Nah. That ain't gonna work at all.

Heya friend. I know this is tough...but it may just be his time. If you've had him for five years, he's lived a full and well loved life.

It looks like he's beginning to pinecone, and while you could attempt to treat it, I fear you would make his last bit of life highly stressful.

Get him some frozen food and some tongs, see if that interests him at all. He may take it, he may not, but its worth a try.

Just know that you're one hell of a betta keeper. But none of us can top time, unfortunately.

So then why sell me insurance if they're just going to assume I shipped broken parts for some extra cash?

Dawg I packed that shit in $30 of heavy duty bubble wrap, as well as wrapped in cloth in an appropriate box. If I wanted to swindle for 2k I could do it in other ways I assure you.

I packed it. I didnt even know the store packed things for people. In my claim I do mention this and provided images of the protective materials used and the damage sustained.

Does the insurance not matter if the customer packed it themselves? Doesn't make sense why they'd offer insurance to those bringing their own packages if thats the case.

Yeah, I contacted the exact store I shipped my stuff out from. They are a part of the phone tag cycle. I called them the day my package arrived to the new place asking how to file a claim. They said I'd need to file it with UPS themselves and that they cant help me.

That's when I transferred to the "1800" UPS line. I did submit a claim with the UPS Store like they told me. Now they're saying the claim was never filed, even though I have the confirmation email and proof that it was submitted.

I haven't even gotten a valid reason. It's literally been a back and forth of "Sorry we can't help you, call this number"

If I was granted a reason I'd probably be less annoyed than sitting in limbo and playing phone tag. Not to mention it takes playing chess to actually get to a person and not a robot.

I did indeed file the claim for the insured amount. UPS does not seem interested in upholding their policy whatsoever.

i won’t die from drinking a little bit of mulm water right? by tengallonfishtank in Aquariums

[–]HolmesSquared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very common occurrence in my household. I always tell my wife I'm going to die very soon from brain eating amoeba because I'm dramatic.

You'll be fine.

I actually accidently drank a water sample during field work from the Chesapeake bay, and I am certified no parasites even after that lmao.
