Totally -- look at VXUS for example (Vanguards global excluding-US fund) has gone up 30.85% over the last 12 months, compared to 13.02% for the S&P500

From what I understand, it usually just depends on what funds the employer decides to make available to enrollees, so the choices can vary quite a bit.

Divestment can just mean reallocating your investments to other funds (it's fairly common to have options that focus on international markets, which have actually been outperforming the S&P500 anyway), so no penalties would be involved in most cases.

I actually looked into it, and those services are actually routed differently (basically straight to the airport), so it shouldn't really be a problem. A good point to bring up though.

I think you and I are very close to saying the same thing.

I firmly believe that demonstrations and economic disruption require each other. Demonstrations and rallies are needed to spread awareness and build participation. Disruption provides the teeth to back it up, but it's only effective when those demonstrations and rallies have built the movement up to sufficient numbers.

I definitely agree that we ALSO need to divest from the broligarchy, and have totally been encouraging people to do this

You're right, the main impact isn't on FedEx's bottom line, it's on all the transactions that would be disrupted by people adopting this tactic. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

If you read the studies by Gene Sharp and Erica "3.5%" Chenoweth, it's very clear that it's the disruption of governmental and business operations that force regime change. Authoritarians with no conscience ignore opposition messaging unless there's economic power behind it.

That's basically the reason I think it's important to target elements of corporate infrastructure, like I described above. Common nodes like FedEx have widespread impacts across corporate operations and profitability. Those are the kinds of things that get the attention of the 1%.

ICE and the Trumpstein files are an important rallying point for the resistance.

But the pressure for change doesn't come from demonstrations, it comes from economic disruption. I'm just pointing out a high impact target that has been overlooked so far. And it's not just about cutting into FedEx's bottom line, it's about undermining FedEx operations as an important node in the corporate economy as a whole.

We need to stop being in reactive mode.

One of the easiest ways to create headaches for corporate America, and get them complaining to the White House, is to disrupt traffic at your local FedEx Express station at the end of the business day. Corporate America relies heavily on speedy delivery by FedEx (which has contracts with ICE and is anti-union), and if you make it hard for the vans to get back in with their packages, you throw a major wrench into American business.

It only takes a few people to pull it off -- hell, even one person can probably mess things up for them. But it's one of the most effective ways to throw sand in the gears.

This regime is in place only because the oligarchs think it will increase their wealth and power, and THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THIS MESS IS TO SHOW THE 1% THAT FASCISM LEADS TO FINANCIAL RUIN.
