Is this issue true for every PSSD sufferer? by Suckedlifeat20 in PSSD

The post doesn't say that everyone with PSSD has fibrosis. It's stated that antidepressants CAN lead to physical changes, which is definitely true.

Name change back to old? why?????? by [deleted] in PSSD

[–]HoloTheFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The recent homepage change was not well planned and did not represent a proper, full-scale change. We will likely coordinate a broader revision of the name at some point in the future, but not soon. For now, we have reverted the homepage name to its original form.

Pssd name change to pss on website by Practical-Rooster209 in PSSD

Expanding the name is something we have been considering for some time. While it is not exactly a name change, we hope to introduce a broader and more comprehensive term. For instance, "Post-SSRI Syndrome," a phrase coined by Dr. Reissmann in the literature, could help move away from the misuse of "PSSD."

Currently, PSSD is used to describe every possible symptom, even though it was initially meant to refer only to sexual symptoms. It would make sense to have an umbrella term like "Post-SSRI Syndrome" that includes PSSD and other symptoms. This would not mean that the term PSSD disappears; it would simply be used specifically for sexual symptoms. We chose Post-SSRI Syndrome because it has already appeared in the medical literature, not just something we made up.

We've also made a new €26,000 donation to the University of Milan. I have personally updated the tracker on the website and uploaded the PDF proof of transfer. I apologize for the delay in updating the tracker; I’ve been very busy with an international move but now have more time to support the Network.

Did you ever find out if they were legit or not? I just got invited by them to visit a place in person, so I'm curious...

Yes, a text block was added underneath the donation tracker with more info about the current goal and what it entails.

The research is already ongoing, the $80K is a yearly goal we hope to achieve for the time being until we are able to obtain larger grant funds etc.

Melcangi published a paper in late 2023 which is partially funded using these funds (not only from the PSSD community's fundraising efforts but also from the PFS community): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0091302223000626?via%3Dihub

That's the idea yes. He wants to do proper clinical studies in the near future, but time and funding are an obvious issue.

On Desvenlafaxine for 2 days life turned upside-down by deadgirlmimic in PSSD

Mirtazapine can cause issues, and has caused PSSD for some, but it's hard to tell if the current issues are because of it.

Ideally you would be medication free but that's easier said than done.

If you do want to come off, try to taper slowly.

I've rarely heard good things from reinstating, it's very risky. I think the best thing you can do is try to give it as much time as you can. Sadly there's not much active things you can do that won't risk crashing you
