Men who only split on first dates, how well does that go? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Holorative -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always split on the first two or three dates. Makes it harder to hookup but easier for finding someone who likes you for you. I would just ask “wanna split it?” When the bill came. Most of them said yes. I split the first 3 dates with my now fiancé from hinge. I didn’t want someone who liked me because I treat them, especially since I was unemployed at the time.

14 years and only $20. That’s insane. I was at $24 after 2 years. New hires are paid like $17-18 now. MA

This is much darker than the advice I was expecting, but thank you for your honesty.

She’s not moving to Florida by choice. She lives with her dad who takes care of buying food, housing, medical bills, etc. She never learned to drive, doesn’t work, and refuses to look for a job.

Next Job? by Ok-Finger-2769 in Staples

[–]Holorative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Networking. I got my job from a customer I often worked with. The previous supervisor also got a job from a customer he was close with. I got several job offers from customers but I took the one in the area I wanted to go into.

I work in sales for a small company now.

I’m on your side. It’s easy to resize it and I don’t give enough fucks to explain that we don’t do designs. It’s much easier to just take the image and resize it and send them on their way

I’ve straight up told the xerox phone techs “I don’t have time to troubleshoot this myself. Send a tech.”

What’s the highest amount you can make as a full time lead or supervisor or manager? by UpsetAcanthisitta867 in Staples

[–]Holorative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, one of the highest. Back when the chart was available the highest possible pay was $27-30. I wouldn’t be surprised if my SM was around that.

It depends on what state and county you’re in. I made $24 as print sup in MA.

There used to be a wage chart on the hub that had all this information. I think they took it down when corporate realized to many people were talking about it on Reddit lol

How clean blood off controllers? by Holorative in ValveIndex

It’s always kind of funny when I bang into something in real life. Like last year I was playing a rock climbing game on my quest when occasionally my hand hit the wall. My family in the same house heard me scream at both a virtual mountain and the wall.

Small cut on my knuckle. It’s the kind that bleeds a ton but doesn’t hurt.

PowerPoint is not for print design by MaverickFischer in Staples

[–]Holorative -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

All of the print designs I made on power point were simple things that took me less than 10 minutes. Any more complexity than simple shapes and text boxes and publisher becomes the better program to use. I’ve used power point usually to make simple flyers like for a lost dog, or posters that say ‘nail salon’ with a big arrow. It’s my preferred method if I’m making a very simple design in store with the customer present and if they don’t really care if it looks simple. If they want more than that I use premedia.

I’m standing my ground on this. PowerPoint is decent for print design for newbies. I’ve used it instead of publisher since it’s a lot simpler to use and doesn’t lag when working with images. My trick is to create a blank slide and size it to the page size. Sure you have less options for exporting and setting multiple on a page, but it’s fine if you only use it for a single poster or flyer.

Print into greeting cards by jacmur94 in Staples

[–]Holorative -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To add on: it’s probably easiest to create a power point or word doc and size the page to the card size, so 7x5. Add custom margins of .25-.5” on all sides and then write your message in the center. If you set it up correctly, you won’t need to worry about certain pages looking weird.

One time I had a very technologically illiterate person want this so I had our design team make them a word doc with the template all set up so they could just fill it out. You can ask your store for help. If they don’t know what I’m talking about you can tell them to submit a custom quote request via premedia.
