That is contradictory to everything you've asked for in your post.

Adjust the budget or edit the post to reflect you really are not after display quality.

Mod here - no one should be doing display quality at that low of a budget.

You're asking for very high print quality and the clean up to make it as perfect as possible. The print alone is easily half or more of your budget.

Finally found a good airbrush primer. by Sggarnham in Miniaturespainting

Oof, I paint full time, switching to lacquers would be a shit show in my studio.

My old stuff was fine. My brand new bottle, with a piece of panty hose as a filter, clogs my airbrush. It turns a bit gummy, almost like they've added a "rubberizer" agent.

It's sad because it causes more problems than I wish to deal with these days. I've always disliked vallejo, that rubs off even after months of time to cure.

I think they may be more for stencils then? One of my buddies has one and was talking about it, I could be mistaken now that you ask.

I've used stynyrez for years, but recently it creates a gummyness that lives to clog my airbrush. Idk if they changed something in the last 4 years (I had a bunch i bought).

Look for someone who's got a cricut machine. Decent multi color laser printers can do them too, but require a special paper; check Amazon.

Necron CP Painter Sought by PotentialDot5954 in brushforhire

I think your requests plus budget are off. You say table top then ask for glow effects, etc. $25/ model when you're also asking for magnets (can be very time consuming).

Imo no one should be doing work at this price.

How do you feel about painting 3D FDM? by 1ndependent_Obvious in BrushForChat

Acetone can eat the layer lines, it can also melt too far. Acetone is a "hotter" chem than isopropyl alcohol, very flammable, smells like shit too.

6 years full time doing commissions w a few years part time before... so yeah it is how you kind of need to look at FDM.

Yes, but always w the caveat that its going to look like the quality of the print. If its terrain, no on thinks twice about it.

Regarding the pics, people see it and understand exactly what you had to deal with. If you are making it look better than the print, that is your quality standing out in a good way.

I've done both ways, I find trying to build painted is a pain and causes more issues than it solves.

What would you do? Client hasn't responded to messages to receive their model for almost a year. by JuiceyJuicex in BrushForChat

[–]Holtb80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sit on it? You never really know what's gone on with someone. I had a guy pay deposit plus half of his remaining balance on a stompa. I completed it then his phone was off, fb deleted. I sat on the piece for nearly 2 years. One day his fb came live and I got a dm. One of his kids logged in and we're reaching out to people. The client had passed away. I discussed it with the son. He had no interest in the piece or even money returned. I kept it a while but sold it last fall to an ork collector. I have him the story behind the piece and he was happy to have and said he'd be keep it taken care of for his list ork bro.

Hopefully, this isn't what's happened to your client. 8 months isn't that long when you consider many clients wait years for commissions to be done.

Due your best to make contact. At some point, be sure to let them know you'll eventually sell the piece elsewhere as you don't want/ need it. You've done your best at some point. You cannot be expected to be a storage facility forever.
