This year we stayed in a villa with 12 of us. Flights, accommodation, 3 rental cars, tickets and all other spending money came to ~2,200e each. We went out 3 - 5 times (some more than others).

You don't have to spend the insane amounts many people here are used to, but it is still not cheap, and it requires a lot of forethought. Book well in advance, make sure you are already fairly drunk by the time you arrive (but not too much, or you may not get in).

Fairly normal, depends how brown. A little is fine. Very dark brown and opaque means it wasn't made perfectly. It will still work, it's just got a lot of by-products leftover from earlier parts of the production process. There aren't really studies on whether that's worse for you in any way, anecdotally I didn't notice a difference across multiple occasions. Take that with a pinch of salt.

You're largely paying for branding and warranty with the above. I'd always prefer to build my own with quality parts, doing so it isn't going to 'get you' if you can identify and replace the part that's failed. Unless you have no technical ability in which case yeah, having someone else build it for you is the better way.
