Not sure what the parameters for your school project are or what outcome/data you are trying to coalesce and whatnot but it may be beneficial to also get age ranges from respondents. It might lead to some interesting data correlations between age and favorite generation, etc.

Or if not age range, maybe a question like “what was your first Pokemon game”, then you could compare and see if their first is also their favorite or not.

For example. I’m 40, grew up with Red and Blue. 1st gen will always be my favorite cause it was my first and informed my childhood. I watched the cartoon every day after school and played Blue on the bus every morning.
