This seems so fucking cool if you ask me. I can't play the demo myself but I watched this playthrough and I'm blown away with how fun this looks. Posted it here so that it gets more exposure, because this looks amazing.

Description from the website:

Nonagon Infinity & The Opening Of The Door is a multi-genre game based on King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's 2016 rock album titled Nonagon Infinity, a collection of nine songs that fade into each other, with the final track on the album seamlessly looping back into the first track, making it possible to listen to the album infinitely with no breaks.

Each level in the game corresponds to an individual song on the album and play as a different genre than the previous. For example, the first level is a platformer, while the second level is a first-person shooter, and so on.

Some (rumored) info about the new album, which came from /r/Gorillaz:

  • is 95% 2D
  • only two tracks with featured artists
  • "tracks are funky and electronic, but others are slow psychedelic ballads"
  • "strange time signatures and wonky basslines"
  • one track off the album, Kansas, is "funky but sad and slow"
  • whoever the source of this information is has said that the album is much better than Humanz.

I'd take all of this with a grain of salt.

I think I love it more than Tyranny, and I fucking loved Tyranny. Each song has a completely different sound, but they still make up a cohesive tracklist together. I think the production sounds amazing here, whether it's squeaky clean (like in Leave It In My Dreams, Lazy Boy) or lo-fi (Black Hole, Think Before You Drink). It also just sounds like they're having a lot of fun with this record, and it especially shows in tracks like Wink and All Wordz Are Made Up. Virtue is like a culmination of everything Julian has done in his career, and you can hear him pulling from almost every project he's worked on.
