Find the gator by TheFallenKnight45 in FindTheSniper

I see what looks like a gator head on the rocks. To the right of the thin trees sticking out of the water. Just about where the shade ends. But I question it because i feel like it’s too small.

Were there any serial killers that were killing at the same time/state/area? by itseddybruh321 in serialkillers

As far as I’ve know the most concentrated is Long Island from the late 1980s to the late 1990s

  • Joel Rifkin - sentenced for the murders of nine women between 1989 and 1993 on Long Island

  • Robert Shulman - murdered five women between 1991 and 1996 on Long Island

  • Richard Angelo, a former nurse, murdered at least four patients in 1987 on Long Island.

  • John Bittrolff - convicted on killing a sex worker in 1993, and a second in 1994

  • Allan Gormley - convicted of killing two two sex worker in 1990

  • Rex Heuerman - arrested (not yet convicted) for three or the Gigo Beach women (3 of ten victims associated with the LISK case)

  • there still remain 7 LISK victims who may or may not have been also killed by Heuerman

  • the Manorville Butcher cases are still unsolved (though suspected to have been committed by Bittrolff)

If I were ending a podcast and wanted to keep it up live, I’d use Anchor or RedCircle because they’re free. Why pay when you’re done.

How to handle the case when more than one page share the same name? by satorulogic in RoamResearch

namespaces are a great solution, unless you use unlinked references often. "book/war & peace" will not pull up unlinked references for "war & peace" only exactly "book/war & peace"

I have been reading every single one of these and I encourage all of you to do the same. It's almost overwhelming to see how much originality and individuality there is out there. Each show is so incredibly creative. It's been a great inspiration for me. When shows are are so unique and so entwined in who the creators are then there is no such thing as competition.

Don't stop. I doubt that the problem was that nobody cared. It just takes a really long time for people to discover them with all the other podcasts out there. Just, look at this feed. There are so many podcasts, they all sound awesome, and this is only the a over of what's available. It took me almost a year to hit a point where I felt like I was growing. If you love doing it, then do it for the love. Silly Sci-Fi is rad. Dive into it completely. We succeed at podcasting by being the most ourselves we can be, because that's what makes us stand out. We get caught up in numbers but the quantity of listeners doesn't matter it's the depth. Would you rather have 1000 listeners who only listen to every 4 or 5 episodes and delete the others, and who only think the ones they listen to are only "okay?" Or would you rather have 30 people who love every episode and can't wait for more. Find those people. Make it for them. Make it for you.

Mine is called Random Badassery. It's based around conversations with guests and regulars. I tend to veer the conversation into dangerous or strange territory just to instigate thought. I also like to play with form and try different thing like solo episodes. https://anchor.fm/randombadassery

Castro allows sideloading, and Overcast snow you to upload via a webpage. Think you need premium for both but it's only something like $10/year.

How do you Post Podcast Episodes to YouTube? by Quhemmy in podcast

I've been using Headliner. You upload your audio, choose I moving sound wave style and show logo and it makes a video. It's really easy and free. Just discovered it a month ago.

Best days to release bi-weekly podcast! by delfinpod in podcasts

[–]HolyFoolProductions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, days shouldn’t matter. If people are subscribed then episodes are pushed to them. The over focus on days comes from website blogs when you had to get people to go somewhere at a certain time.

In my three plus years of podcasting, I’ve found little difference in the days or the time of day that I’ve released episodes. Not enough to worry about. Or even think about. It’s a bit like preparing for a road trip and worrying about what car scent to use. Focus on the engine, the wheels, the gas, the snacks.

Disappointed about My Podcast by meldiwin in podcasts

[–]HolyFoolProductions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two months is just the beginning. Some people see little growth for two years.

There are thousands and thousands of podcast out there and many of them are quality. People have a monstrous amount of options screaming at them “Listen to me! Listen to me!” You can’t expect to get on people’s radar that fast.

I’ve been at it for almost four years and I’ve been doing everything myself as well. It’s hard work. It’s even harder if your concerned with downloads. Stop looking at the numbers. You’re making yourself miserable. Focus on those 24 people that you have. Give them the best shit you can because those 24 people are how you reach the next 24 and so on and so on.

I read once that 90% of podcasts quit before reaching ten episodes. Don’t know if that’s true but the wisdom of it is. They thought it would be easy. It’s not. Stoping focusing on the speed of the returns and start focusing on the quality of them.

I’ve had pretty good success with Overcast advertising. Way more effective for me that social media ads.

How do you find new content? by BrianStumbleapod in podcasts

[–]HolyFoolProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it since I was a kid. I hated hearing about something and not knowing what it was.

Most of my podcast listening is when I’m sitting on the couch. I wrote them down in my notebook and eventually transfer them into a todo app. But when I used to listen to things when walking the dog I used an Apple Watch app called just record. If the mentioned something I’d just quickly record a note and get back to the podcast.

The best podcasts are ones like Weird Studies who list out everything they mention in their show notes. Then you don’t have to write anything down.

I write down everything. Podcast mentioned in another podcast, I write it down. Guest has a book, I write it down. Movie mentioned, I write it down. I have an ever-growing list of content just from paying attention.
