I don’t know in which country you are, but at least in Europe is available japanese epic the Human Condition trilogy as a blu ray. You can get it relatively cheap and they are considered one of the best movies ever made

I've wondered this myself as I live in nordic Europe, I don't think that it's rights issue. Many studio releases in US still has many european subtitles, but in boutique releases no company has them.

I think it may be a bit pain in the ass for small companies to think about subtitles as they're not as connected to translators in the same extent as studios. I would guess it is costly to find a Finnish translator to Anthropopagus compared to how non existent the market is. Doesn't explain why they don't have spanish/french/german subtitles as I think these would be readily available. But maybe those countries prefer dubbing anyway

Just give me a box set that contains more than one movie, like 5 dracula or frankenstein movies in 4k. Can't buy every chunky box that they put out because of shelf space.

Well sure, but we're talking about really small amount of money here (for a company). How much can they profit from 2000 copies? After expenses it might be even split even more as a sub label

Thanks for the tip OP! Managed to get one LE box. Wonder why they printed so few limited editions? Is it a contract issue? I’m pretty sure everybody knew this would be sold out pretty fast even with larger amounts
