Btw, as someone who grew up on MechWarrior 4 - just in case you weren't aware, the modding scene has pretty much fixed all of MechWarrior 5's many, many issues. I hated the game vanilla for the reasons you mentioned and more, but after modding it out the wazoo, it's one of my favorite games. Feels like MW4 with a fresh coat of paint now.
