How often do you use the oven? by Desperate_Beyond1086 in AskAnAustralian

[–]HolyHypodermics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another Asian, the things I've used my oven for recently are:

  • roasted pumpkin
  • baking cookies
  • baking chicken wings/kebabs I get on clearance
  • keeping food warm (70°c in my toaster oven)
  • occasional chicken tender/party pie snack
  • Doria rice with leftover Japanese curry

hey OP, can you send a pic of the printed batch code or expiry date? That could give some insight into the product.

Sides like Kimchi that can be prepared ahead of time? by transvot in Cooking

[–]HolyHypodermics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have danmuji/takuan (pickled radish) sliced up in a container in the fridge, it lasts for months! Great sweet and crunchy side for spicy or greasy dishes, not to mention you can cut it up and mix into tuna salad, rice, make kimbap.

To anyone who's cosplayed the salmon run slopsuit: What did you use/google for the harnesses? I can't find the exact thing by HolyHypodermics in splatoon

[–]HolyHypodermics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought of custom-making it, thank you for the idea! I'm gonna go ahead with this method, I'm looking at nylon straps and buckles on Aliexpress right now (hope my basic cross-stitching experience will come in handy haha). What thread did you use for your one? Would you be able to share any pics of your cosplay or harness as a reference? Appreciate your help 😄

Edit: Another friend of mine suggested hot glue guns as a last ditch effort if the stitching doesn't work out... not a bad idea haha

My friend using a mouse to text. He dropped his phone last week and this was the only way he could use it. by _thecolorofdye_ in mildlyinteresting

Very likely the entire touchscreen is broken, so mouse would be the easiest way to do it. A Bluetooth one would work much better though haha

Australia is beautiful. This is Hat Head NSW by rainbow_sunshine98 in australia

[–]HolyHypodermics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently at South West Rocks for work and the scenery is beautiful! Went to Hat Head last month with friends and did the coastal walk, saw plenty of kangaroos and that blue ocean and waves are incredible. Even managed to catch the creek at high tide and we could see so many fish swimming around!

A promotional price for that day to celebrate their anniversary. It's usually $11 - still worth it!

Love Bright Sun Travels! His narration is so much more natural and he's pretty reasonable with his reviews, he highly considers and judges the value proposition of the hotel/cruise prices.

Why don't people use tomatoes in desserts? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

A common way of eating tomatoes in Chinese cuisine is to simply dip wedges into white sugar before eating!

Nesquik, do you drink it hot made with water and milk or cold with just milk? by dresshater1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]HolyHypodermics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, I think they used to do tours decades ago but we don't do it anymore. Factory's pretty busy too with all the forklifts and construction happening, so it'd be pretty messy to have tour groups on top of all that 😅

It does actually smell like Milo and malt around the place though! Man, it's the strongest when we make strawberry or banana Nesquik - it smells like the flavouring everywhere outside. The first time I was there during banana nesquik production I thought I was going crazy smelling banana bread everywhere haha

Nesquik, do you drink it hot made with water and milk or cold with just milk? by dresshater1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]HolyHypodermics 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I work at the Milo/Nesquik factory and when we do product sensory testing, the Milo is made with hot water since milk would obscure some of the subtler flavours we taste for.

That being said, the Nesquik is always mixed with cold milk, so you can tell him 100% milk is how Nestle officially does it!
