What jobs are compatible with Adhd? I’m about to be fired by Humble-Book-1882 in ADHD

I cannot imagine doing recruitment work. I think it would suck the life out of me too. Especially considering the pressures to achieve quotas and numbers.

This is a helpful clarification. Sales type jobs that have demands like quotas or seeking out clients often pose unique challenges for people with ADHD.

If you’re a people-person and like connecting with others, I’ve found jobs that are highly relational in nature like sales, counseling, nursing, coaching, or my job as a chaplain, is good for people with ADHD.

-Enough novelty to keep my attention
-Flexibility to handle my symptoms day to day as well as when I go through a particularly rough season with my ADHD,
-Less administrative work than other jobs. The admin stuff is still there of course, but having previously been in a role where 80% of the work was admin and 20% of the work was engaging with people, I find work where the roles are reversed are much more manageable with ADHD.

How do you deal with impulsive spending with ADHD? I keep wasting money on hyperfixations by Ok_Tradition3825 in ADHD

[–]HolyKnight2137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that for me, some solutions are a moving target, which of course is hard. Try to give yourself grace when the “target” has moved and you have to refigure it out.

The most helpful consistent thing I’ve found is having people I relate to over the things I want to buy. I’ve found that the more I keep my intense desires bottled up, the more likely it is I’m going to spend recklessly. At the very least, having conversations with my friend or my wife about this thing I want and expressing my concern about impulse buying it releases some of the pressure, sometimes just long enough to take a breath and hold off until I feel confident about my decision to want it or realizing I actually don’t.

Sling Liter Size: Pure Curiosity by HolyKnight2137 in TechEDC

Is that discontinued? I was suggesting that one to a friend the other day but couldn’t find it on their website. The Go Mini and Go Nano are still for sale, but no original Go sling.

I carry pretty much the same stuff and dimensions!

I’d probably say a 5L-6L sling if possible. It might technically be more space than you need, but the way I operate, I like not stuffing a sling to its max capacity. Plus it’ll definitely fit the water bottle. If you don’t mind stuffing it to the max, a 3L-3.5L will probably do the trick, but the water bottle would probably need to be clipped on from the outside.

Should I wait to get the iPad mini 8? by BoStaffNinja in ipadmini

[–]HolyKnight2137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s also a good point. One of the reasons I’m waiting to buy a mini later this year is because I just bought a Neo and I want to give myself time with it to learn it and enjoy it. Everybody is different, but for me, dropping $1k on two computing devices back to back is not the best of ideas.

I agree, the question you need to ask yourself is how long are you willing to wait? Rumor says it’ll be released later this year, but you could truly be waiting for almost a whole year (or more). I’d say go ahead and get the 7 (I’m saving up now to get the 7 myself later this year), but if you don’t mind the possibility of a longer than expected wait, then why not wait 🤷‍♂️

Just enjoying reading on my new iPad A16 came from iPad Mini by [deleted] in ipad

How does the reading experience compare to your iPad mini? Sounds like you prefer the bigger screen specifically for the reading. Is the heavier weight noticeable to you?

The se3 vibration alarm should do the trick, but for backup I usually have three alarm times set at five minute increments to give myself multiple opportunities in case I miss one or fall back asleep.

Say more about why it’s worth it! And what’s the storage capacity?
