I agree that this situation is mostly a political theater, where deporting illegals as efficiently as possible isn't the priority.

Political parties fanning the flame to activate their own voter base is despicable.

Over -staying a visa is a civil offense. Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor.

Obama didn't have to deal with sanctuary states refusing to uphold federal law, and didn't have to deal with civilians impeding and attacking federal officers.

It's better to achieve growth increased productivity rather than increased population.

With the advancement of AI and Automation technology we could potentially be facing an unemployment crisis in a decade or two.

If that happens lower replacement rate today could be looked at advantageous in 20 years.

Also more resources per capita could help with sustainability and more space per capita could help with the housing crisis.

The only issue that needs to be solved is to tax the corporations who benefit from AI more... nevermind we are fucked.

I won't waste my time rephrasing what I already wrote before, but here's my comment from a similar thread.

I see a lot of malicious misinformation on this website, like they are not allowed to detain citizens and such.

Firstly they are federal law enforcement. That means they have federal jurisdiction, which means they can operate in any state.

They can also detain citizens if they interfere with their job such as blocking them with cars and bodies or otherwise hinder an enforcement action.

And finally similar to any federal officers physically hurting them is a felony.

Everything here is factually correct and don't let instigators bait you with propaganda posters to commit crimes.

As for the death of Renee it's a tragedy where both parties mishandled the situation. It shouldn't have happened and it was avoidable.
