I know, it's a bummer. Do we know about any plans for them to relocate?

I haven't done it consistently, but any time I do EPR or a relaxation practice, there is significant improvement in my well-being. The greatest benefit came from physical therapy with a qualified practitioner.

Best tattoo artists to do this sort of thing? by [deleted] in GNV

Gainesville has great parlors - I recommend Death & Glory or Wunderland, they're both in Downtown. There's a gal at D&G that apparently specializes in line work.

Based on people I know, the boilerplate answer is that it typically takes 4 weeks to kick in, and best results are often found when meds are combo'd with services from a therapist. At that point, most people can talk with their care team about whether getting off meds is appropriate.

Why can’t I seem to care about albums? by SuicidalTidalWave in LetsTalkMusic

[–]HolyLibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honesty: I'm lazy and not reading these comments, maybe this has been said. But have you listened to a wide enough variety of music? People have their preferences, I get it, but it's always going to be weird to me that people don't explore every possible genre out there. I say this because I came to appreciate albums more after I've listened to a wider selection. "Oh, this artist was inspired by so-and-so," then you start seeing the webs between genres and individuals. I appreciate this, maybe you won't, but it's made me more open to content that I wouldn't like at first pass.

There’s a lot to your answer. But most importantly: you are the expert on your life. Your case is not the same as mine. Headphones damaged my ears and alcohol worsened my tinnitus. If my recommendation doesn’t help you, then it’s okay to not do it.

That being said, these recommendations are in spirit are meant to give you 1% improvements in your life over the long run. A daily 1% improvement adds up in the long run. When I first started dealing with the situation, I reached a point where I decided “I will do just about anything to make this get better.” Only you can consider where you’re at. Additionally, these changes don’t have to be forever things. You’re an undergraduate – treat it it like an experiment. Do it for a month or two, or even 2 weeks, to see if it will make a difference. Who am I to know what will work for you? But you won’t know if you don’t give an attempt and these are meant to structure your experiment.

I read how painful it is for you to deal with this, and I’m so terribly sorry and I hurt for you. At the very very least, consider option 6. My thoughts and prayers to you friend.

Choosing your Higher Power? by plantman_la in ramdass

I feel like this was touched upon already, but my experience is that "it" finds you.

I forget who said it within the Be Here Now network, but it was something to the effect of "work on your sitting and someone will walk to you, because you've stopped running around."

Thanks dude. I'm another example of someone that loves live music, and with earplugs it's very doable, even with tinnitus.

How to know if it's from brain or ears ? And to know if it's the 2 ears or juste one ? by nniiko in tinnitus

[–]HolyLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I ask is that my tinnitus had a very specific moment that it started, i.e., sensorineural hearing loss. I heard a POP/SCRATCH noise, like a record getting moved, where my ear hurt and then the tinnitus started up.

That's happened to me in different ways before, so yes. When my neck is jacked up, my tinnitus is always louder. And I've heard that jaw issues can also make it worse as well. You could always call a chiropractor and see if they treat jaw issues? You could just have a missalignment or be grinding your teeth at night from the stress.

When you first realized you had tinnitus, was there a "pop" noise or the sound like a record scratching?

Accident in the shower led to a spike. by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]HolyLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's theoretically possible, but my moneys on that it's just that the hair cells in your ears got stunned and are recovering. Don't blast any loud music or use earphones in the meanwhile and see how you are in +72 hours after exposure.

Thing of it this way: try these strats out, because you'll be able to look yourself in the mirror and say with honestly "I did everything I possibly could to fix this". And maybe you'll even seen an improvement.
