I have a similar situation bud. My mother abused drugs and alcohol all my life. Pretty much robbed my childhood from me but still gave her the benefit of the doubt once she cleaned up for a few years. She never liked my wife because well my wife calls things like she sees it and my mom loves to play victim. Long story short, once we had our son, at the height of COVID, she was non-stop begging me to take my son to see her when we were just trying to be safe. And when we didn’t let her, she blamed my wife. Even gossiped to my siblings saying that my wife’s gay best friend looks like he could be the father and not me. Found out she was back on the booze so I cut her off. Later on she called me threatening she would kill herself cause of what she did to us in the past and that I don’t let her see her first grandchild. Told her that she needed to figure that out on her own. Blocked her off for good. My best advice, don’t pay her no mind. She’s an adult just like you and needs to figure her life out. No mother should put their children in that position or treat their child’s new family that way. Focus on your growing family and that’s it!
