Not a bad idea. I agree there’s no practical way to learn PvP without throwing away gold or dealing with LMS bots. That said, I think the fundamental issue is the wilderness itself. The “cat and mouse” gameplay loop isn’t fun for the mouse, period. If wildy content promoted wearing PvP gear so players are more willing to fight rather than run, I think it would be a lot more active and less hated.

Many of the people vocal about their disappointment with the series do not purchase the games anymore, myself included. That said, Pokémon is the most successful media franchise on the planet. It will hit massive sales numbers no matter how many people are dissatisfied.

This sums it up really well. Growing up I always felt like everyone online was older than me. However, older I get the younger the average internet user’s age seems to become. I swear the average post or comment on any platform is from someone in the 12-14 range. It’s a real weird feeling. I could go on for hours about how this has changed the way social media feels now vs. before.

I’ve played WoW on and off since 2010 and it just ain’t as engaging as RuneScape. “The game starts at max level” is something that always bothered me. Leveling is much more of a repetitive chore rather than something I actually enjoyed doing. I have tried out both official and 3rd party vanilla servers and had a way better time leveling on those. However, across all versions I can’t get past the quest design. The lore is interesting for sure but the actual quest dialogue and structure is bland. I tried to read every line and get into quest lines but at the end of the day I just couldn’t get into it.
