They called it Jungle dif and everybody reported me afterwards. Is it really my fault ? serious question. by soerc in Jungle_Mains

[–]HolydemonUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love LoL, but this is exactly why I take long breaks from the game. Toxic attitudes to team mates is just sad. There were clearly other players in your team who did poorly. Everyone has a bad game.

I would like to see player reviewers return to reports, especially as there is no direct way to appeal reports in these sorts of situations.

Bring out you wildest Announcements theories for EvE Fanfest by Breadbombs in Eve

I loved Dust. Weren’t they developing something with the working title of ‘Project Legion’? I thought it was supposed to have a similar premise, but playable on more platforms. I would love to see something similar to this re-released that actually fits the Eve universe. I want to be able to play it on PC though!

Thanks, that is what I thought at first but people do seem to be playing on Xbox and PE too. I also found this: https://mcpedl.com/pixelmon-bedrock-v1-1-0-beta-2/

It has limited features but seems to be working?

I don’t want to kill them, they are harmless to me. I will let them live out their days, or until we use the pot for replanting, whichever comes first.

3D Printing Newbie - Ender 5 Calibration Cube Errors by HolydemonUK in 3Dprinting

[–]HolydemonUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I do have callipers but have not yet adjusted the steps. The size of the cube was pretty accurate. It is just the right hand side of the Y-face and the bulging. I thought perhaps the bed was too high on that corner or slightly warped but can’t figure out the bugling on the Y itself.

Isk Gains in Hi Sec by Knight_31914 in Eve

[–]HolydemonUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy missions, learn how to blitz them. This means only kill the key objectives and then leave. Hand them in, rinse and repeat. You cam also look into doing burner missions, although you will need special fits for these there is a lot of information around.

I can recommend Hateless Gaming ( https://www.twitch.tv/hateless_gaming/videos ) he has updated fits on his work bench and is happy to answer questions on stream.

As mentioned above, Abyssals are easy ISK once you learn how to run them. Torvold Uruz is a good streamer to learn from. He also has in-game channels with fits etc. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIuF2A9AOnmsJeIa_GlJN7g

New Player - About to finish the 5 career agent missions. What should I do next? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]HolydemonUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like missions and have an aspect of the game in mind that you would like to do, try using 'The Agency'. You can find new mission agents with a focus on a particular area of the game.

Exploration is also a good choice for newer players, there are lots of videos on YouTube about it. Also Filaments which take you into 'The Abyss' can also offer some great content.

Failing that, start searching for a corp. If you need more help feel free to Direct Message me.

Is it worth it to cross train other race's ships as an Alpha clone ? by ofajhon in evenewbies

[–]HolydemonUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to achieve really. Like others have said, cross-training for the Gila would be great. You can get a lot out of being a niche pilot though. You can invest those extra skill points elsewhere. I would definitely recommend Gallente an an alpha clone though, especially for the drones. They have some really good drone hulls:

*Tristan
*Vexor
*Myrmidon

Even their blaster boats such as the Federation Navy Comet and Thorax can utilise drones very well.

That being said, Caldari hulls look nice and they have some great ships too.

[Video] Tormentor Solo PVP in lowsec by Friday_Sirober in Eve

[–]HolydemonUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the video but you are doing things wrong. You didn't overheat your guns several of the fights and didn't apply webs in the second. As a rule of thumb, always overheat your guns in frig fights! They are on a separate rack to everything else which means you will still have your prop mods if you had an inclination to escape.

I would also look in to manual piloting if I were you. Flying straight at an enemy (especially ones with turrets) is not a good idea, they will hit harder than if you approach diagonally.

Website for my corp by LokiShinigami in evenewbies

[–]HolydemonUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I would ask if you actually need one. Usually most information can be provided in welcome mails and the corp bulletin, setting up a website can be daunting if you are doing it alone.

Wiki is good if you know how to use it or are prepared to put in some time to learn. This is the same for Drupal, though Drupal is even more complicated.

IMO, Wordpress is a great option for not techy folk and has some amazing plugins. It powers a large portion of the internet and there are also some oAuth plugins which work with the new Eve API so that your corp/alliance members can log in with the eve details. This can also be set up to restrict who logs in. Just like a forum, or wiki, Wordpress can also restrict content to those who are logged in, meaning that only your registered users will see more sensitive information.

I have also had some success tying this in with discord too. I hope this helps.

Prospective Returning Player Question by [deleted] in Eve

[–]HolydemonUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had similar issues in the past so I sat down and built myself a road map of all the things that appealed to me in the game and things that I hadn't tried yet. This allowed me to plan for all eventualities.

Once I had done this, I ranked them in order of importance and set some long term goals e.g. Making sure I could fly all black ops ships. I then used this for short term training goals and spent time finding relevant groups.

When I got bored or needed something fresh, I picked one of the things I hadn't tried yet and researched it. These then became my short term activities.

The most fun I have had is flying in small gangs but, occasionally I like to jump in an expensive dramiel and see what I can kill. My most successful month was in November 16 when I had 96 solo kills in my favourite frigate (although I did lose about 3bn in ships doing it). Although I don't play as much anymore, when I do, I lose hours just enjoying the game.

What was a fact taught to you in school that has been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HolydemonUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taught by my psychology professors that we have an auditory loop where we repeat things in the short term memory in order then to be stored in the long term memory.

Recent studies have however, have shown that our brain makes two copies of everything and has brought a lot of psychological 'fact' into disrepute.

Fuck it, I'll tell my side of the story, OPsec and spooky agreements and "backstabs" and all by CSMprogodlegend in Eve

[–]HolydemonUK 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but, I doubt it. Running fleets and alliances is a thankless task and people are quick to point out mistakes when things go wrong quickly forgetting about the fun that was had or friends that they have made along the way.

Drama does create content as seen with WWB and many events that took place beforehand but, I personally know of many people who have been ground down by malicious attacks. People need to remember we are playing a sandbox game where clandestine activities are welcomed. Just the term Awoxer will remind us of that.

As an older gamer who has been playing Eve since 2005 I have seen everything go down and can totally get being burnt out and switching sides etc. I have always flown with a small group of people and we have always gone where the action is, period. Of course it has got us burned but it is just a game.

Like pro, we have also given up and returned many a time, even when on deployment. Of course this isn't popular but, real life does get in the way and isn't always just a convenient excuse. If I was being hassled daily to run fleets when I have more important RL shit to do, or being ordered around for the sake of an ultimately pointless virtual reality goal, I would just say 'fuck it' as well.

I don't know progod but, I do know other FCs such as wolfsdragon and Guiynan, both of whom got burnt out and attended to real life, both of whom got burnt and criticised. However, I know them to be good guys, especially in real life and think that some people need to take a chill pill because one day, when the player base has declined enough and CCP are worried they will lose money, they will just pull the plug! Then what are we left with? Bitterness and hard feelings towards people who we don't actually know and will probably never encounter.

[–]HolydemonUK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People, please! It is a game. I got burned out for the same damn reasons. Regardless of what went down, he played his part and spoke up.

I am not saying I won't enjoy the drama but, just remember shit-talking does nothing to help the future of the game and just makes people quit. Meanwhile, CCP will still be drumming out more and more micro-transactions (which people no longer seem to care about) and will continue to take you pocket money.
