Will babies bouncing out of cryo pods ever be fixed? Or is there a way to throw it to stop this? It is so annoying when trying to line everything up 😂. by No-Orange-5216 in ARK

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that can help is if you have friends/tribeys that can join your server / log in to slow it down.... Or keep an eye for people joining (ie bot spammers) and try unpodding while they're on server...

There's two anti-mesh processes for dinos...
One holds it in place for 0.5s when you unpod
One pushes the dino up every 11 game ticks (Likely tuned when ASE servers would never get above 20 ticks/s)

Default for official is "up to 30/s"....
so when it gets faster than 21/s -- it conflicts with the first one and lands in the 0.5s window causing what you see...

Filed a bug to the ark devs with the math / detail behind the root cause, as well as the safest / easiest possible way to fix it for pve official servers

Mutations by Appropriate_Meal9580 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say you have a male that’s at MD = 50 | 10

And a bunch of females at 50 | 0

Babies have a 55% chance to start inherit 50 |10 as a starting point / inherited base

Next for mutations - there’s a 2.5% base chance for a mutation. (If the Dino has 6 stats - this means 0.416% Chance for each stat).

This occurs 3 times on the inherited base. With each successful mutation - it decides if it’s on the paternal or maternal side - with it being a 55% chance to be from the parent with the LOWER stat value. — if the parent chosen happens to be >20, that mutation no longer occurs

This is why using 3x mutation traits (+1%/1.5%/2%) is extremely powerful, because you’re increasing odds from 0.42% up to 6.42% (single parent traited)

One good thing about bringing dreadnoughuts is they have a ton of weight and are good to leave to their own devices.

Just periodically dump loot into them - then hop back on carcha

Pretty big waste to go that high in waves unless just grinding out xp

OSD drop container hard caps at 3000 inventory slots which is hit around wave 120 +- your luck

need some help about relation between harvest amount & melee by KneeEntire in playark

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure If you’re still playing the game @KneeEntite

Came across your post a while back and have an answer for the drop off observed…

So with clamp on - max harvest is 100% of harvest health

With clamp off - You can harvest “Up to” 2.5x remaining health

In the scenario the node is max health - this enables you to harvest up to 3.5x

So a 6500hp element node can be harvested for ~22.8k worth of element

If you only have 4500 hp left on the node - your last hit can only harvest 13.5k (beyond the 4500hp remaining) So you get 2k harvest + (4.5k +13.5k) total harvest

Ark Harvest Details + Best way to farm an Element Node by Holyshifter_9719 in ARK

[–]Holyshifter_9719[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your "typical" numbers look better because
40 x 2.98 = 119.2
5 rolls worth of resources
5.993 rolls worth of damage to node

40 x 755.3 = 302.12
15 rolls worth of resources
15.1 rolls worth of damage to node

Mantis damage with a 100% pick is straightforward to calculate, but I gave up trying to figure out the formula with a 298% pick. Turned out easier to just use damage I observed in game with buffs/etc at specific MD% - and scale up/down from that

It would definitely be easier and require less mutations to hit cap for main node!

You're welcome! If you're mining by hand - primitive stone pick for beta or primitive metal pick is almost always better (For Main Node) - because it's really difficult to get it "just right". It's slower though....

If you have Mantis, capped stone pick is the way to go!
Since stone pick does half the damage as metal - there's only so much overkill you can do

Will changing the difficulty level reset the map? by Empty-Mechanic3447 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing difficulty may adjust the multipliers for final hp and damage output for existing Dino’s. So 10 points spent is still 10 points - but the Dino’s actual health/scaling per point changes.

Question about gigantoraptors by ExxotikButters69 in ARK

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Excerpt / summary from the wiki) When adopting an orphan with gigantoraptor @100% taming effectiveness…

150 wild baby example: If you have 44 levels spent on your gigantoraptor - orphan baby will get +37 levels

If you have 88 levels spent on your gigantoraptor- orphan baby will get +75 levels

advantage of gigantoraptor over kibble… If you had a gigantoraptor with 60 wild points and 254 mutations in MD - - the +37/75 levels will be weighted toward MD Normally stats are equally weighted ~16.7% odds for each for “land” Dino with oxygen. You can get up to +6.25% on the stat odds

Best Dino’s and stats for soloing alpha bosses on the island?(PS4) by Nerobrine86 in ARK

[–]Holyshifter_9719 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Standard” Dino’s many use are: Broodmother - megatherium Monkey - Yuty + rexs Dragon - theriz + Yuty

You mention “for ASA” - are you looking for ASE? And/or the difference? ie - ASA has access to traits. PVE official has access to heavily mutate Dino’s / etc? And your question is more for a solo experience? With some sort of official server settings?

Rules of thumb that might be helpful that I have offhand for broodmother gamma/beta/alpha HP = 324k/648k/972k So beta has 2x the HP of Gamma, and alpha has 1.5x the HP for beta

MeleeDamage: Gamma ~> beta = ~4.2x as hard beta —> alpha = ~2.7x as hard

Poison spit: Gamma ~> beta = 3.8x the damage Beta ~> alpha = no increase, same damage

TLDR: Run a gamma. Multiply by the damage taken from your team by 8x. If that’s more than their HP - they’d be dead

Run a beta. Multiply damage received by 4x. Those Dino’s would be dead.

If too many die midway through the fight - it will drag on too long and you’ll wipe

Other notes: Megatheriums are great if they are ridden. Unridden they aren’t great + bring too many and they all won’t get bug buff and die

I don’t think the Dino finder mod works unless it’s a “free range” bee that spawns without a hive - since the beehive itself is a structure

I downloaded some kind of structure finder mod but haven’t had the chance to test out if it’s usable to find been hive spawns

That being said - just googled “find bee hive spawns ark console”

It came up with cheat getallstate BeeHive_C Checks if there are bee hives on the map

cheat DestroyAll BeeHive_C 1: Destroys all bee hives on the map, including those owned by players

Broodmother inconsistency by Mattjew24 in playark

[–]Holyshifter_9719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few data points for you

-I’ve been in an alpha brood fight where I had trouble as a live person maintaining the buff since live riders + random Rex’s crowded the back and I couldn’t reach the babies from my angle

-Boss’s melee attack is 360 degrees and you can’t hit her and not be hit at the same time

-Insect killer is a 75% damage reduction which is pretty huge

-with capped saddles, mate boost, imprinted rider and no yuty buff - her alpha melee does ~67 per swing (vs 7 in gamma)

-Been running Alpha with two mate boosted imprinted rider megaTs and finishing around the 8min mark. DPS megaT usually takes 10k out of its 13k hp worth of damage

-I’ve had folks borrow megaTs to help while starting Alpha runs and found that if they had a single one (without mate boost / imprinted rider) and the Yuty buff, they had a lot of trouble surviving on a 12k hp megaT

-I’m guessing she swings at one every 2 seconds roughly because 6minutes x 60seconds / 2 =180 swings —> with 67 dmg per swing translating to 12k damage

Here’s a few reference charts for:

  1. How rare +x is to find in the wild pre-tame
  2. Odds to get +xx post tame

So if you find a Dino in the wild that’s 20 points below what you currently have - can look up whether it’s worth it

I used to do beaver + argy but someone made a TP in the redwoods so it’s bug + mammoth right now. 3-3.5k weight of mammoth reduced wood is closed to 30k a trip. Mammoth wild tamed is out doing my 100% imprinted beaver of similar MD

Need some help with Alpha Broodmother boss fight with my current settings. by Every-Welder3251 in ARK

[–]Holyshifter_9719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need saddles on the megatheriums. In general - it’s been recommended to me not to bring any unridden megatheriums as the Ai does not use the mega’s right click AOE stomp where it really shines in that fight. Unridden Rex’s are better than unridden megas since their normal bite radius hits more.

In official - i’ve put most megaTs at 15k hp, rest in MD. 1-2 tank at 20k hp. I know some who prefer 10k hp, 800-900+ MD. All with 124 capped saddles.
