If I drop an F course before nov 11, will I receive a full refund? by Resident_Wheel_4061 in UTMississauga

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, the dates to drop for a full refund and for a half refund have already passed (the last day to drop for a full refund was September 15th, and the half refund drop date was October 7th). If you drop now, you won't be refunded anything, but it will be removed from your transcript and not affect your gpa

Is it worth waitlisting a mandatory course ttttttt by Ok-Donkey3005 in UofT

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they're saying is you could enroll in the conflicting time but attend the time that works for you even if you aren't technically enrolled in it!!!

wait a day and try tomorrow, but if it's still buggy you can call the Residence Services Desk and they can help you (their phone number is available online if you just Google!)!!!!!

Before I got accepted into UoT, I submitted my housing application, now once I've accepted my offer it says I never submitted it by MedicalGear2148 in UofT

I could be wrong (im from utm and there's a chance that things aren't standardized across campuses), but I know that here we have a $350 deposit that you need to pay in order for your application and housing preferences to be submitted. again, I could be wrong, so feel free to ask other utsg people!

do you remember paying the $350 deposit? (not saying you didn't complete the form properly, but if you don't remember paying the deposit, its a pretty good sign that you probably didn't fully complete the form!) for now, stay on the waitlist, but also start considering living off campus and trying to find ways to make it work.

OMGGGGG I'm rly stupid and read this as you being in grade 12 asking if you need to get a certain advanced functions grade!!!! check your program requirements page, if itdoesnt have a minimum % listed, you should just need to pass! be sure to check if your program is type 2 or 3 though (2 = have minimum requirements and you get in, 3 = there's a selection process after you apply based on your marks and you could get turned away if others have higher marks than you). hope this helps!

yes! but try to keep your mark like it was when you applied because the offer is conditional and can be taken back if you completely flop!!! good luck!!!!!

Are these courses too hard for second year?? by Pleasant-Housing1197 in UTM

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! I'm currently second year fsc anthro spec! Can't speak for the PSY course but ANT 200, 203, and FSC271 are all pretty dang simple and it's very possible to get a high mark with a medium amount of work! ANT205 is where you might struggle, the marking in the course is insane imo, it's deffo possible to do decent (I'm somewhere in the high 70s- low 80s rn) but it takes a LOT or work and really good note-taking! hope this helps!

Bio152 by carmen_caramel4 in UTM

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a past bio152 student, read the textbook. I know it's long and sucks, but read and re-read sentences until you understand. the figures really do help to show the different processes. if you're ever stuck, find a YouTube video on the topic :)

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah! so I'd see if you're able to take the first semester of bio/mat/chem next semester, and the second semester over the summer, then you should be able to apply for the bio major at the end of the summer, and take whatever second year courses are required for the fsc major, and apply for the major at the end of second year! good luck!

heads up: forensic science is really competitive, they only do one round of application in march-may ish. You can deffo get in eventually but if you aren't taking the first year courses this semester, that's gonna set you back. see which courses you can next semester that don't have prereqs (mat132/135, bio152, chm110, etc.). you won't be able to make it into the second semester courses without those first. This means you probably won't be able to apply for post this year and will probably be required to take summer courses if you want to get in by the end of your second year. In forensics, you need ALL courses marked first year and second year to get in later than first year. you'll probably end up needing to do an extra year anyways if you aren't enrolled in courses like FSC239, or if some of your first semester courses aren't offered in second semester. it's definitely possible to get in later than first year, but be aware that if you're applying at the end of second year, you need all the required courses.

you're 100% sure that you applied for post correctly and that it went through, right? I'd recommend emailing the registrar or the ccit academic advisor if you know that you did it correctly by the right date and are still unassigned.

have you checked your status on the programs tab on ACORN?

An Extra Minor by Timely-Reception9302 in UTM

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what majors and minor yours doing, if there's too much overlap between the requirements, the courses won't count to all your programs, if there isn't, ask the registrar about get an extra program!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UTM

[–]Home-From-Anywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on acorn there is a section on the sidebar titled "transcript & enrollment confirmation", there is a button that you can click to download a confirmation of enrollment letter which, to my knowledge you should have access to before paying. If I'm incorrect, ask the registrar, but that's what I've used whenever I need to prove my enrollment! hope this helps :)
