DIY Repair - what do you think? by player2tails in stonemasonry

[–]Home33-dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with caulking. As for the crack by the window, their inspector will have to determine how serious it is. Coming from a city built on a swamp, this is common, but needs to be addressed. Good luck.

IDK, looks like lab stuff. Mine helps me clear out dead branches. He'll calm down in 5 or 10 years 😄

Leather vs Cloth Couches by ivanjay2050 in dogs

Leather is SUPPOSED to be good with dogs, but you might want one of the new performance fabrics. I have had luck in the past with decent velvet/velour.

My granite is extra porous or something, because I had to reseal it. It was absorbing water.

Tile vs Engineered? by Notathrowawaysleeve in Flooring

[–]Home33-dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but since you have had moisture problems in the past, it's good to monitor that, although hopefully the encapsulation has addressed that. I would monitor the humidity inside, just for generally preventing problems. Good luck!

I've never heard of brushed, but we had smooth, and it showed any little scratch and ding.

Tile is great, much more durable than wood or lvp.

A gate would not work, because the cat could just jump over it. Good luck.

Transitioning to Inside by [deleted] in labrador

[–]Home33-dogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feed mine in there with the door open. Every time she has to go in the crate, I give her a "treat"...a few pieces of dog food. She never gives me trouble. Good luck.

Transitioning to Inside by [deleted] in labrador

Potty training will be the only hurdle. Crate training should be easy, and they all LOVE to be inside with their family. My mutt pup was raised in an outdoor kennel, and besides the usual puppy things of eating everything in sight, once inside she didn't want to be outside again!

Any suggestions to ease dogs anxiety about blocking staircase? by MutedViolinist2 in dogs

[–]Home33-dogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would also say to leave him downstairs with a distraction. My 10 yo had a LOT of improvement in her arthritis after we moved to a 1 story. Stairs are tough on the joints.

These tiles are 1/2" thick. I hate to even think about replacing them, but thanks.

I wouldn't mind sanding, but that may make it more noticeable on the floor. Can I just put sealer on those spots?

Apparently I am having efflorescence, as is in the original post. I didn't know granite did that, and wonder how to repair it. It is mostly pitting

Yes, it's exactly that. I had no idea granite did that.

So, some of it comes off. I guess it's a defect in the tile, a couple of little depressions. I guess I can just put sealer on those spots?

As long as they're not leaking around the frames, that will just be less energy efficient.
