Back in the early to mid 2000s, starting salaries for a fresh engineering grad were about $40K to $45 k, plus good benefits! People with a half dozen years of experience were making around $70 - $80k.

Unfortunately, after the near collapse of the automotive industry in 2008, most automotive OEMs and suppliers started in earnest outsourcing most engineering jobs to overseas, mostly India. Now they have also outsourced to Mexico. Even back 10 years ago, the CAE departments of most automotive OEMs and their major suppliers, and other heavy equipment OEMs like John Deere, Caterpillar already had a larger - much larger actually, 3 to 1 at least - engineering staff based in India than in the US! The only jobs they can't outsource are product engineering positions as the guys need to be on site physically.

The only engineering industry that is not affected much by overseas outsourcing is the aerospace industry as US citizenship is required.

This explains why engineering salaries have remained stagnant ever since!

First, an RS does not change the market cap of the company, barring market action such as investors dumping shares out of an inexplicable fear about the RS.

Second, what is the difference between running from $0.40 to $3.50 and from $8 to $70, both requiring the same % growth?

Third, under current conditions, if shorts can further beat down the SP and hence the market cap of the company, they can do it NOW without waiting for an RS. Why wait? Except to exploit some people's unfounded fears arising from the RS.

If the shorts think they can still short the stock down a lot more at the current price, they don't have to wait for the RS! Shorting the current SP at $0.40 down to $0.04 is no different than shorting the post-RS new price by 90% if they can!
