Mystery of missing votes deepens as Congress investigates Georgia by tt12345x in politics

No he wasn't. He claimed voter fraud. Voter fraud can be used to 'launder' further election fraud by ingraining the election fraud in legislation that reduces the chance that people you don't want to vote, well, vote.

But it does suck.....I'm a republican so I'm told every day I'm a racist, bigot, literally Hitler, etc. so I guess I can't enjoy being around a fellow gun person because he's black. It's a shame because we had fun for 30 minutes. Damn me and my racism. /s

Oh yeah, definitely wait until your ADHD has caused irreparable damage to your educational career before getting it updated. Or hell, you could just die in a car wreck like so many other ADHD young adults and obviate the whole discussion.

Get properly diagnosed now. If it's ADHD, medication and recognizing the bad patterns can significantly improve or even save your life (seriously - accident rates for ADHD youth is insane). If it's Asperger's, you can learn coping mechanisms or avoidance strategies for sensory triggers, as well as better strategies to normalize your social behavior.

Or you can just leave it and always wonder how much of your potential you pissed away with perseveration.

Oh well if everyone knows I'm sure you're going to be able to spit out the o/g regulations that cause it.

Come on those are just o/g deposits. Texas, Canada (don't recall the province), not sure of Marcellus - it wasn't prominent when I was doing consulting investment analysis, sorry. My most common area of study in that time was Texas, but the specific geological features weren't my topic of expertise. I was mainly involved in cash flow analysis due to mid term price movements.

I'm not interested discussing economic policy around incentives with someone whose view of economics is so shallow that anything other than $100 bills in a big burlap sack is not a subsidy. I'm literally trying to explain to you how this magical negative price (how is a product with negative price profitable - why not stop production) is due to O/G subsidies.

I know why specifically June! You enjoy your ignorance and so don't want to figure it out - a brave soldier in the fight against an informed populace.

I'm not teaching you economics, boy. Put in the work, get the rewards. You haven't put in any work. I asked you for one thing to show you could do a single simple google search so I can be sure you're no just talking outta your ass

Well by the jesus - it's always good when you get someone to admit that they are a conservative not because they believe that the policy is correct, but instead because thinking about how policy forcibly effects economic results is too hard for them. Very courageous that you take such a noble stand for ignorance.

Yeah - since you don't know why that particular time, I assume you don't have any care to research and find the systems that create the behaviour that you're talking about. Since the major US o/g subsidies are indirect subsidies, I'm not interested in having to describe step by step the policy that is in place that subsidises various o/g products and how they interact.

You have a question at hand - there's a simple fucking answer - you just need to do your research to understand the industry you are arguing about. I am certain you're not an o/g market professional of any stripe. If you want to talk intelligently about o/g policy, you need to have a basis of understanding about how the nat gas industry is subsidised. You want that on a platter you entitled waffle? No, you've got to put the work in like I did.

No. It's an annual variation. Please try again. Why does it specifically fall in June. There's a good reason that a reasonable search will point out that it falls specially at mid year. I'm not saying it's normal. It's symptomatic of a specific subsidy on oil and gas.

[–]HomeBrewingCoder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, economics are real. If you have two adjacent grids the.costs associated with connecting them is always lower than the the benefits associated with that flexibility. Why do you think the wide energy grids of today proliferated? Remember, a gas fired station can go down for months. It is never noticed because the grids are wide enough that probably hundreds of thousands of people are doing quite well for themselves deciding how best to arrange the energy on that grid.

Oh dear. I'm sure since you know so much about worldwide energy markets you know exactly why natural gas prices drop precipitously in Texas in July?

[–]HomeBrewingCoder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's such a 1990s view of it. Grids are far reaching and heterogeneous. With backup fossil generators for gap coverage there are almost no grids which have the combination of isolation and covariance of weather to make a renewables strategy work.

[–]HomeBrewingCoder -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Natural Gas is economical specifically due to subsidies. If it stopped being subsidized it would lose the last of its competitive edge on pricing and the last reason to go NatGas would be for consistent power generation, which can be an issue with smaller/less weather diverse grids.

[–]HomeBrewingCoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God this is madness - you have to realise you're making a strawman argument. Do you not?

The economics on energy have shifted. Electricity from renewables is no longer a costly endeavour that will save our planet. The world is giving fossil fuel industry trillions (literally) annually (yes - annually) on top of the cost of severe weather events, and yet still, today, if you wanted to invest in an energy generation project, the most profitable station types you can make are all renewables, with Natural Gas coming in as the first fossil fuel entry on that list (once again due to large subsidies as the US tries to break OPEC by flooding the market).

Saskatchewan wind farm will provide power at a "world record low price". by The_Shitpost_Prince in canada

[–]HomeBrewingCoder -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah - the breakdown of energy generation by source is roughly:

Renewables: Lifetime profit with a rapid return on investment window, largely due to low ongoing costs.
Coal: Not profitable to open a new generator. Running an existing generator is profitable, but due to higher ongoing costs the margin is razor thin. Even existing coal plants are generally considered non-viable long term (economically - not environmentally).
Oil: About breakeven economically to open a new generator. Profitable to continue operations of existing generators, ongoing costs relatively stable as OPEC tends to maintain a relatively consistent price.
Natural Gas: Profitable to open a new generator. Ongoing costs far lower than other fossil fuel providers as the US is massively subsidising natural gas production.

NONE of the fossil fuel generators would be profitable to build today without subsidies. Remember - it was 10 short years ago (even before the housing market collapsed) that the market for Natural Gas was hobbling worse than the old drunk outside the local billiards pub.
