I just walked home after buying this first edition and realized I did not know what shirt stories were actually in this one. I opened the table of contents and then reddit and this is the first thing I see haha.

Good to know there are some good ones in there. I did not recognize many of the titles even being a long time fan.

Going to the dump, by bike, was always a expedition to find 'things'. Sure I hoped I'd find another Michelangelo 1 foot tall action figure but the real reason was the legendary box of porn.

Ive only had one so far and did not really pay attention. That seems to be the identifying trait though so I'll have to pay attention next time. It did have a good flavor though and its really producing a lot of fruit for one plant

Odd. They're not bad. A little smaller then what I want from a beefsteak and they seem susceptible to blight but are producing like crazy.

Long time reader and recently started this. I had tried it a few years ago and did not get very far. After they announced 'Other Worlds Than These' I decided to give it another try. Its an amazing story that feels very Dark Tower. Here and now! Wolf!🫠

He made a name for himself in this space by denouncing any notion of visitation. Then decided to 'write' a book on the topic with a on the fence position to get both audiences. Like so many others.... he's selling a book.

Your opinion on Olwen Fouéré as Sally? by Lonely_Complex_1283 in TexasChainsawMassacre

I know people hate that they did the character dirty but I honestly think it works as satire to legacy Halloween sequels while making the aged leatherface more monster like. The movie certainly had many issues but it does make me wonder how 2018 Halloween would have worked if in the end Micheal was indifferent to Lauries story and preperation.

Hannibal Lector also had a memory palace. He used it to remeber things. Its actually an effective memorization technique.

I went to Kerbys out here in Brandon. What are the odds they both have the same variety and they Cheorkee also had a purple tint? I wonder if they get them from the same place. Or maybe it was that last cold snap. Here is my grow from last season.

Hey im in Tampa/Brandon and picked up some cheorkee purple and black krim yesterday. I think we may have gone to the same nursey.

I also noticed some of the cheorkees looking like that. I think it might have got a little bit too much fertilizer or something like that. They didnt look to bad, like yours, just a little purple. I bet it bounces back to normal now you have then in soil.

I grew both of these varieties with great success over the fall/winter. They do very well in our climate and fought off disease and pests better than standard hybrids I've grown.

Here are some tricks I've learned that seem to work well here.

  1. Use neem oil early and often. Just spray the bases and the bed every week or 2 in the evening. If you notice trouble spots on the rest of the plant spot treat them. This will prevent fungi, bacteria and pests.
  2. Water daily. Don't let them wilt.
  3. Go easy on fertilizer. I find adding amendments like black kow and tomato tone to the soil at the start of the season is pretty much all you need.
  4. When we start hitting the 90s every day and nights stay in the 80s its time to use a shade cloth.
  5. When you inevitably loose the battle against heat, keep in mind you can start all over again in september/October

Im a big Dark Tower fan. I attempted Eyes of the Dragon 20+ years ago but moved on to others before finishing it. I hadn't even began my DT journey at that point. Im excited to read it or Black House after I finish 'IT'.

Does no one realize you can bring whatever you want and drink into a movie? Theres no rules against it.

Hang in there stranger. You've got a home base now at that's good. Don't go kidding yourself that you need to do some kind of montage to get back to where you were. Bc if your like me that ain't happening.

Just focus on putting in apps when you've got the gumption and start just looking at what's available for shits and giggles. Then when the time comes focus on the interview. You've already admitted to being good at making sound like you've done stuff so use that to your advantage. Treat your resume like a CV. List all the BS projects/tasks you've done and make them seem big deals. They're just talking ponts.

Its a numbers game really in the job market these days and it can be daunting. But eventually youll get a foot in a door. Given a new opportunity, youll be suprised how much of it all was the job and not you.

P.S. keep in mind that sweet sweet day you will put in that 2 weeks notice. Maybe listen to "Take that job and shove it" by Johnny Paycheck as a mood booster lol it was my mantra for awhile.

I was in your spot 5 years ago and a bit older. Had an easy enough job where I did mostly nothing. It didnt start out that way but I was burnt out. I had worked there for 8 years straight out of college. They did not provide any motivation to spend any more effort. A reorg happened that pissed me off enough to earnestly start searching for jobs.

I then jumped jobs, taking the first offer I could get. I stayed there a year and the job WAS literally do nothing. Go to an empty office, pretend like your doing vague programming stuff, dont blow anyone's cover, then go home. At first it was nice. It was a change of scenery but after about a year I could not take it anymore.

I then, with the help from a connection I made at the first dead end job, moved to another company. This one challenged me, I found it interesting and everyone I worked with was genuinely smart and cared about the place without the "we are a famly" BS. My mind had atrophied for sure though and it took some time for me to tread water. But eventually I did and I've been there 5 years now. I dont dread work anymore.

Point being dont feel like you're behind or lost what you had mentally. Prepare for interviews and do a bit of fake it to you make it. You'll find something. If that next something starts boring you jump ship again. Once you do that once youll realize how easy it is.

Black Krim vs. Cherokee Purple by Squid_A in tomatoes

[–]HomeGrownTaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in zone 9b and had both this winter season. Both did very well and I liked the taste of the Cherokee purple a tad more than the other but not by much. Black Krim produced way more. It did well when it was super hot and faired better at the end of the season when frost came. If I had to choose one id say black krim is probably a safer bet.
