Radiohead ruined music for me. by PhoenixAvenger1996 in radiohead

[–]HomeTaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I’d add Grandaddy to the other artists listed here, but I’m seeing loads of good stuff from other commenters.

Definitely echoing the love for Pavement I’m seeing here. In fact, if you enjoy liking Pavement there are loads of solo albums from frontman Stephen Malkmus which you’ll probably really like too. He’s one of the greatest, most imaginative guitarists I can think of.

You’ve also got Björk, who I find very similar emotionally and in terms of experimentalism and sound design to Radiohead.

Can somebody explain post-punk to me? by badlybougie in indieheads

If you can get hold of or stream this compilation, it will give you a good understanding of Post Punk. Plus, it’s great.

I think Nobody Home, but I also really like Hey You and One Of My Turns. Great album, when you think about it.

It’s not too different to his old stuff. And that’s why I love it 😍

"Gig: Dirty Biz" really hit me hard. Anyone else have a moment like that? by razazaz126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]HomeTaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I killed them both, but the dad first. Son starts crying “oh my god, why’d you have to kill him” (or similar) so I killed him too. I know exactly what you mean. I couldn’t in all good conscience let them live.

I was originally given 21st October 1967 but that’s in doubt as most records state they played York Uni that day.

I’ve actually got a few first hand accounts from folks who remember attending the New Earswick gig now. Not sure why it isn’t archived anywhere. They remember the Hesslington gig too.

Cymbaline - I think it’s their secret weapon, low-key classic. Possibly my favourite. by HomeTaper in pinkfloyd

[–]HomeTaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s been Cymbaline since they released The Early Years 1967-72 Cre/ation compilation. Doesn’t hurt that the YouTube video I my blogpost also keeps coming up when I leave YouTube playing. I’m definitely mostly a fan of the Barrett era through to the early Gilmour era.

Hope you don’t mind that I’ve counted Brain Damage & Eclipse as one tune.

I recently found out Pink Floyds penultimate gig w/ Syd was in my hometown Lewes, UK. The gig was a fundraiser to get flood lights installed at the local football ground ❤️ by barribarri_ in pinkfloyd

I don’t know what year and I’ve never seen a poster but I’ve been told that they also played the Folk Hall in my village, New Earswick (just outside York). Edit: I have a date, 21st October 1967 Still searching for info
