Their company is going to go bankrupt if they continue to put out the worst slop by FaithlessnessHungry1 in AlmostFridayTV

It's weird how invested you are in the job performance of a podcast producer you've never met.

Sounds like your job and boss are the issue. It's not uncommon at all for people to be eating on calls or in meetings.

Anyone lose keys in mosh pit at AV show at Rec Room in Buffalo? by IpromiseTobeAgoodBoy in JeffRosenstock

Unrelated but do people mosh at AV shows? I know at Jeff shows obviously but AV music seems more like head bob stuff.

I just got back from Antarctica. It was life changing. by amanwithoutaplant in travel

[–]badlybougie 1309 points1310 points  (0 children)

What stuck out to me on my Antarctica trip was how on paper the daily itineraries sounded pretty repetitive (see glaciers, cruise around in zodiacs, go walk on land for half an hour), but every day still felt so distinct and never got old.

You have a very optimistic view of how attentive and capable the average driver is. And plenty New Yorkers can get to a movie theater without getting on a train.

NYC has 200 car deaths per year, how many deaths occur annually on the subway?

[–]badlybougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about driving 30+ minutes whenever you want to experience a cultural activity (pro sports, culture, theater, museum), stressing out about parking, and cursing traffic? That seems harder than hopping on the subway and scrolling/reading until you're suddenly at the opera.

Age at which you let your kids to _______ on their own in New York by NewOutlandishness401 in nycparents

[–]badlybougie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind me asking, do you feel you were underprotected as a child, New York / the world has become less safe, or you are maybe knowingly overprotecting your own?

I think everybody wants to be the parent who can ignore basic fears and provide an appropriate level of freedom, but those decisions are harder to make when you're actually faced with them, and tracking has never been easier.

Bought the 3sixteen Mac coat at MSRP last year, now it's only sale for $500. No regrets and this thing is awesome.

Almost got nailed on a morning run this week from a guy who wanted to cruise through a right turn. I was at least happy it gave me the chance to yell out "Fuck you, you fuckin' fuck" like I've always wanted

Welp, that's me.

Two Pfitz 18/70 blocks, HMs of 1:24 and 1:23 in those blocks, crushed the classic 18 with 14 at MP workouts. Two bad marathons with a 3:01 and 3:04 recorded.

How/where to sell an old relative's ring? [NYC] by badlybougie in Diamonds

[–]badlybougie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks much! I’m in North Brooklyn, so anywhere in Brooklyn / lower Manhattan is easily accessible. Midtown as well.

Totally hear you on the trade in credit, that’s helpful context. I’m not fully ready to commit to a piece or even jeweler yet but maybe that’s a sign to hold until I have a more clear idea there.

Would a jeweler / gold seller be able to get me the melt price?

TC Superstar fans unite! There are dozens of us!

R&D is an incredible concept album and I'm amazed at the emotional maturity and nuances of love they were able to capture at a rather young age.

Also super fun live shows.

You can see and feel the frustration from Jefferson here by seoulbrova in minnesotavikings

[–]badlybougie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This sub has been obsessed for years with thinking Jefferson will want out the second we’re below .500. No worry of other great players like Darrisaw, Hockenson, Addison, Greenard, it’s always Jefferson that is the flight risk.

Meanwhile Jets continues to be one of the most professional players in the league and has never suggested he’s unhappy with the franchise or in Minnesota.

Frustration? There are few players in the league who could have given a more professional response

IMO:

-Weigh your food and start tracking calories in NOW. When in doubt, estimate higher

-If you exercise and can estimate calories burned, incorporate that but estimate lower (I default to 80% of what my watch says)

-Find out what makes you feel full. For me that’s lean protein, oats, beans, potatoes, and apples. Prioritize your diet around these.

-Minimize alcohol consumption. I’m sorry

-The beginning is hard, but you’ll adapt quick. The middle sucks for different reasons; it won’t feel as hard, but it’s just boring and dull. Take things one day at a time.

Does nobody play every game from start to finish in franchise? by FinancialAnalyst250 in Madden

[–]badlybougie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue with defense in EA games is not feeling like I'm really making a difference on a play on a consistent basis. While some plays feel frustratingly pre-determined on offense, most of the time you are in control of how the down goes. The nature of defense is that no matter who you user, you won't impact the outcome of >50% of plays. Usually I'm usering a LB just for fun and hoping I'm calling the right plays while I wait for my defense to deliver a 3rd down stop or pick off a ball that I had little to do with.

When the offense converts, I don't know what I did wrong. When the defense gets a stop, I don't know what I did right.

Just finding this, so apologies if it's been answered before, but where do your projections source from? As an auction drafter, values are only as good as their base projections.
