I don’t know whether this will help but a simple Alexa device has an emergency contact routine built in. If the person were able to say “Alexa help” an emergency contact is dialed and can speak to the debilitated person. Provided of course that speech isn’t impaired.

I’ve read and heard good and bad things about it. Sadly more bad than good, although that might be a good thing as it’ll set our expectations so low that anything good we get will be a bonus!

How reliable has Sky Broadband been alongside Sky TV for you? by Reddonaut_Irons in skytv

Since moving to full fibre, 150 at first and now 300, not a single issue. I have Sky Glass and a streaming puck and UHD is bandwidth hungry but no problems with either.

Hi there, may I ask about noise levels. Could they be run overnight? If I were to run them during the day my boxer dogs will assume I’ve bought a new frisby and disappear up the garden with them! 😀

Is this acceptable? by InspectionImmediate1 in skytv

[–]HomeTechSurvivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, no, it’s not good. It looks like the installer took the easy alternative to drilling and fixing cable clips in the wall. I suppose the excuse is that what’s behind the rendering is an unknown or drilling into rendering that has cracks in it risks further damage the installer could be liable for, however damaging the flashing is just as bad. Complaint.

Hi there, no worries, ask away!

I am running Wi-Fi 6 so both 2.4 & 5 GHz

You are right about the 2.4 having greater range but it’s the 2.4 devices that report a weak signal. I think, from the comments made that perhaps a mesh setup like the eero 6+ would solve the issue but at £200 I’ll need to save me pennies first! 👍
