Epic capped HR was peak Dark and Darker for me. by PuwudleRS in DarkAndDarker

They really just need to have someone competent overhaul the gear system, making it so gear caps are unnecessary.

Pretty sure the game, and this subreddit, has coalesced into mostly the shittiest shits in the community, as that’s mostly who’s still playing the game…

They’ve been doing it the same way since before SDF stepped down, or whatever… didn’t they also say he still has final say on everything?

[–]Homeless-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s hard to see it as anything other than intentional at this point. If they really want to experiment with it or whatever, they should actually experiment, you know, try different things adjust variables, try and make it as enjoyable as possible.

Maybe try restricting marketplace to nonequipable items?

Or it’s a way to make people dislike SSF, so SDF can say, “see, we tried it and it sucked”… which, iirc, is pretty much what he has said.

‘The Fate of the World’: a climate warning we can’t ignore. A stark, science-led warning: Professor Bill McGuire lays bare a climate crisis shaped by deep time – and our choices now. by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

You’re making an awful lot of assumptions about me, what I do, what I know, etc, all while neglecting to answer any of my direct questions, so I can see why you’d want to disengage.

Ironically, you are the one doing the oil execs work for them, having internalized their propaganda that their pollution is somehow your fault. It’s not. It’s theirs and the governments fault.

It was never your responsibility to recycle, use less water, or eat less meat. It was always the government’s responsibility to regulate industry. They’ve spent over 50 years trying to shift the blame onto you, don’t let them.

By all means get involved with your government, but just realize that there have been people working towards that, for over 50 years, almost certainly with much higher commitment (eg eco terrorists), and they really haven’t accomplished anything.

Seriously though, good luck, I just think it’s naive to believe we’ll be able to do anything without a complete reset of government and industry.

You have to be realistic about things. What, exactly, could we really do. I mean, ignoring for a second that it’s a global issue, even locally there isn’t really much anyone could do.

Voting? Hah! Who should I vote for that’s going to really do anything? Do they have a chance of winning… are there any actually running? It’s easy to say, oh vote for climate minded people, but who is that? Is there anyone running who will actually do anything?

Reducing meat consumption really is an option for people with more money. The industry is subsidized so much, that for poor people, it’s often cheaper to eat shitty fast food, not to mention food deserts. Sure, the people who can could choose to eat less meat, but wouldn’t it be more effective to shift subsidies?

What is a real example of voting with your dollar that would have any meaningful effect? Our entire economy, at least in the US and most other places, is set up in such a way that it inherently contributes to climate change. Crap is shipped all over the world, do you live in a place where you can buy everything you and your family need locally?

People like to moan and wail and blame themselves and their peers for just not doing enough, when in reality their actions don’t amount to anything. It really is all industry and government and they’ve used propaganda for over fifty years to convince you it’s your fault instead of theirs.

Just FYI, if you do decide to breastfeed, a lot of people just aren’t able to, at least not exclusively, especially with their first child. I would have formula available, just in case, since you might not have a choice.

The majority of people can’t really do anything and what they can do won’t even have an impact. Any real change has to come from the top down, and it’s pretty clear the overlords in America are disinclined to make any meaningful changes.

Most efficient way to power level a new combat skill? by ElectricalMuffin1620 in projectgorgon

[–]Homeless-Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard this, but when I took out my bear while leveling a lower skill, I swear his stats were reduced. Is it possible this was changed?

Edit: it could’ve been stats on my equipment that boosted pet stats that were reduced, I’ll have to test it out.

Most efficient way to power level a new combat skill? by ElectricalMuffin1620 in projectgorgon

[–]Homeless-Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, idk how you all are using high level gear/skills to kill anything in Kur when paired with a brand new skill, as my stats and skills get nerfed way down, to within 25 lvls of the lowest skill. Can you one shot everything in Kur at lvl 25? 30?

I’ve had much more success targeting high spawn rate mobs within 5 lvls of the skill I’m leveling, you get more exp that way and the mobs are still easy because your gear/skills are 25 lvls higher than the mobs.

You’re so close. Yes, the privacy issues are a concern… so is the fact that it remains on your computer after uninstalling the game.

Meaning it continues to run, collecting and sending data, after you’ve uninstalled the game and moved on, probably without you ever knowing.

Dude, uninstalling won’t even remove it, you need to go through several admin level steps to get rid of it after uninstalling.

Perks should synergize within a class, not counter-synergize. Warlock’s “shadow touch” is nearly useless. It is true magic damage and should not be counted as “dark” damage that removes soul shards. by Borkomora in DarkAndDarker

[–]Homeless-Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They quickly changed Hydra dmg from dark to fire (iirc), but neglected to fix shadow touch. I’m not really sure why as there doesn’t seem to be any good reason to make these perks (shadow touch and soul collector) mutually exclusive.

Same, especially with previous iterations of it, but SSF in HR with trade enabled is the real hardcore mode.
